今日はイエス・キリストの復活をお祝いする復活祭（イースター）。一年に一度だけほとんどのお店が閉まる日曜日です。昨日家族と集まって子供たちのためのイースターエッグハントなどをして遊びました。キリストが復活されたことでわたしたちも復活できることに感謝します。

It was Easter today. We got together with the family yesterday and had an Easter egg hunt for the kids. I'm grateful for the atonement of the Savior and the gift of resurrection so that we too can be resurrected.

古い電子ピアノ　Our old piano

先日これまで使っていた電子ピアノを，ちょうどピアノを欲しがっていた友達に売って，代わりに新しい電子ピアノ（ヤマハのクラビノーバ）を購入しました。今日ピアノ屋さんが配達してくれて早速弾いてみたけれど全然これまでのとは違って本物のピアノみたい！スピーカーが大きいので音色が全然違うし，弾いた感じとかペダルも本物のピアノそのもの。本当はこれより二つランクの低いピアノを買う予定でピアノ屋さん行ったのに，突然ブライアンがクラビノーバが欲しいとか言いだして（本人は考えてたみたいけど聞いてなかった）びっくりだったけれど，弾いてみてこれでよかった～と思いました。高い買い物したからには練習しなくちゃ。

So, we just got a new electric piano today! It's YAMAHA Clavinova 535. It sounds just like a real piano and I just love everything about it. It makes me want to play. We were originally thinking of buying Arius 162, but Brian all the sudden told me at the piano store as we were trying out pianos that he wanted Clavinova. I was like "Whaaaat?!! Do you think we have that kind of money?!!" But Brian convinced me it would be a good investment. I tried it after it was delivered today and think Brian was right. It's just so wonderful. We'd better practice often!

ところで，今日長老たちがミニミッション体験をしている高校生の子を一緒に連れて来ました。納豆を体験してもらうという目的で連れてこられたかわいそうな男の子。納豆やっぱり嫌いだったようです。6月に伝道出る予定らしいけど，日本に召されませんように（笑）

By the way, Elders in the ward brought over a high school boy who is on a mini mission to have him experience Natto (fermented soybeans). The poor boy did not like it. I'm sure he doesn't want to serve in Japan now, ha ha.

アップロードし忘れて日付が変わってしまいましたが，今晩（9日）宣教師を夕飯に招待してありました。たまたま宣教師の交換日だったので，別のエリアからの宣教師（ビーン長老）が初めて我が家に来て，ということで，我が家のしきたりで納豆を食べてもらいました。かわいそうに。。。「おいしくない！」と言って食べてました（笑）

We had the missionaries over for dinner tonight (well, I guess it's already last night). They were on an exchange today, so Elder Hunt was with an Elder (Elder Bean) from another area in our stake. Yep, that means I got to feed him Natto! He took a bite and said "This isn't good!" Too bad! Ha ha!

ラマ Llama

うちの近所（3つ先の通り）にラマを飼っているお宅があります。去年ウィリアムを幼稚園に車で送って行くときに見つけてすごくびっくりしたのを覚えています。通るたびにいつも見れるわけじゃないけれど，今日は久しぶりにフェンスの近くに立ってこっちを見てました。見る度に興奮しちゃいます（笑）

There is a llama just three streets down. I couldn't believe it when I first saw it, but since then I have been looking forward to seeing it standing by the fence whenever I drive down the street. I get so excited whenever I see it. (>v<)

おしっこトレーニング Potty Training

数日前からまた本格的におしっこトレーニング始めました。最初は超いやいやながら泣いて子供用便器に座っていたウィリアムですが，なんと！今日3回もおしっこできましたー！これはこれまでまったくやろうとしなかったのに比べたら奇跡も奇跡☆ウィリアムより自分の方が興奮しました（笑）今日とても頑張ったということで，ブライアンが以前にウィリアムにトイレ行けるように頑張ってもらうために買っておいたけれど全然刺激にならなかった機関車トーマスの列車の一つ（これまで冷蔵庫の上でずーーーーっと置き去りになっていた）を一つあげることにしました。今晩早速枕元に置いて寝てました（笑）明日もトイレ頑張ってほしいー！

I started potty training William again a few days ago. William was whining badly at the beginning, refusing to sit on the potty, crying and begging me to let him go. BUT! today a miracle happened! He used potty three times!!! I say that's a miracle because he wouldn't even sit on potty before. I think I was a lot more excited about it than William was. William got a caboose (Thomas & Friends toy) as the reward. The caboose had been sitting on top of our fridge since months ago along with some other Thomas toys. Brian had bought them to motivate William to use potty, but it didn't work at all, but finally the caboose came down from the fridge. :) I hope William continues to use potty!

それから今日はウィリアムにパラシュートを作ってあげました。我ながらうまくできたと自己満足（笑）

And I made a parachute for William. I was happy how it turned out. :)

教会音楽フェスティバル Church Music Festival

もう一週間以上も前になってしまいましたが，2月26日（金）に，ソルトレークのテンプルスクウェアのアセンブリーホールで行われた教会音楽フェスティバルに出席してきました。去年教会に提出した賛美歌で賞をいただいて，教会音楽フェスティバルで演奏してもらう機会がありました。演奏の部の前に夕食会が開かれて，もうその時からずっとカチコチでしたが，多くの才能ある音楽家と共に集えたことを光栄に思います。いや～でもほんとすごかった，他の人たち。

So this happened already over a week ago (Fri. Feb 26th), but I attended Church Music Festival held at Assembly Hall in Temple Square in Salt Lake. The hymn I submitted last year was recognized and performed at the festival. There was a banquet before the festival with about 20 other talented composers who had been selected to be there. I was nervous from the beginning to the end, feeling very inadequate, but I felt very honored to be there.
