昨日はアメリカ合衆国にとってとても忘れられない一日になりました。新しい大統領が選ばれました。民主党候補者のヒラリー・クリントンと，共和党候補者のドナルド・トランプの間で繰り広げられていた醜い闘いの末，少なくともわたしとブライアンが恐れていたトランプが勝利を手にしました。この二人の候補者のうちのどちらかを選ぶという選択は，多くのアメリカ国民にとって難しいことでしたが，人を侮辱する発言をはじめ，政治について何も知らない人物が大統領に選ばれて，彼を指示する国民が過半数にものぼったことに失望しました。夕べ彼の勝利がほぼ確定したことが分かったとき，かなりショックを受けて気持ち悪くなりました。勝利後の彼のスピーチがとても大統領らしくてよかったという人もいるけれど，個人的にはヒラリーの敗北スピーチの方が全然よかったです。トランプが大統領になった以上，これから少なくとも4年間アメリカのために頑張ってもらいたいです。

Yesterday was a big day for the United States of America. The day the new President was elected. Choosing between the democratic candidate Hilary Clinton and the republican candidate Donald Trump was a really tough thing to do for many citizens. Personally, I didn't want Trump to win because he is so disrespectful toward many people (different race, women, etc), and doesn't know much about politics, just to name a few. So there was no way he could possible become the President of a nation, but I was stunned when I found out that majority of the citizens had voted for him and that he was going to be the next President. I was so shocked and disgusted, and literally felt sick! Some people I know say his victory speech was very presidential, but I did not like it that much. Personally I liked Hilary's concession speech a lot better. Well, despite what I say, now Trump is the President. I really hope that he will do what he said he would the next four years and make this country a better one.
