またまたマドレーヌを作りました。実は昨日も作ったので今日で4日連続。昨日のはひどい出来だったので写真を撮りませんでした。というか毎日見た目は同じ感じだけどね。今日のは今までの中でいちばんよかった。でもまだちょっと理想のマドレーヌとは違うからまた挑戦しなくちゃ。
I baked Madeleine again for the 4th time (4 days in a row)! I baked some yesterday too, but didn't take a picture because they didn't turn out well. Today's Madeleine was the best among the all four, but could be better. I will keep baking until I can bake the ideal one.
昨日作ったマドレーヌ，おいしかったけれど，自分の求めていた味とは少し違ったので，もう一度別のレシピで作ってみました。そしたらおいしかったけどもっとその味から遠ざかってしまった！ということで明日も別のレシピで作るかも。。。
The Madeleine I baked yesterday was good but it tasted different from the one I used to have when I was young (my mom would bake some and I thought they were the best). So, I baked some again today with a different recipe, but this one didn't taste like the Madeleine I have been wanting for. I might try again tomorrow with a different recipe.
ブライアンの読んでる本の表紙にマドレーヌの写真が載ってて，ずーっとマドレーヌのことが頭から離れず，ついに焼いてしまった。おいしかったけれど自分が食べたかった味とは違ったので，また明日別のレシピで作ってみたい。
Brian has been reading a book that has a madeleine on the front, and I couldn't get madeleine off my mind so finally baked some this afternoon. They were good but it had different taste than what I expected, so I want to bake again tomorrow with a different recipe.
バレンタインに外食しなかった代わりに，昨日回転ずしに行ってきました！回転ずしと言っても，寿司の乗った皿がボートに乗ってやって来る，しかも流れてくる速度がチョー遅い！流れてくる寿司もアメリカちっくな物が多くて，まともなニギリ寿司は一つ2ドル。でも前に行った寿司屋よりもネタがとても新鮮でおいしかった！久しぶりにマグロやイカやエビが食べれて満足しました（＾ｖ＾）
We went to a sushi place for dinner last night as a Valentine's Day dinner. Sushi would come on boats and it was fun. Their sushi was much better than the last sushi place we went to. I was so happy that I could have some fresh tuna, squid, shrimp, etc.
14日のバレンタインには，金曜日だったのでディナーに出かけると混むと思ったので，家でハンバーグを作って食べました。ハート型にしたのだけれど（友達のマネして），微妙なできあがりになりました。デミグラスソースも作ったけれどそれもいまいちだったなあ。あとは生チョコとチョコクッキー作って，ブライアンからはバラの花束とLindtのチョコレートとカードをもらいました。チョコはすでにもうほとんど残っていません。。。
Since Valentine's Day was on Friday, we thought it would be crowded if we went out for dinner, so we just decided to eat at home. I cooked hart shaped hamburg (it doesn't look like hart though). I made the sauce too but it wasn't so good either. :( I made nama-chocolate (it is very soft and creamy) and chocolate cookies and they were good. Brian gave me beautiful roses, Lindt chocolate and a beautiful card. And just for your information, the chocolate is almost all gone...
最近仕事が忙しくってなかなかブログを更新できませんでしたが，その間にもウィリアムはすくすくと育ってますますわんぱくになってきています。机に乗ったり下りたり，戸棚や引き出しを開けて物を出しまくったり隠したり。「ダメ」と言うと怒って物を投げる癖が。だれに似たのか。。。
I have been busy with my job and hardly have time to update my blog. William has been growing well, more like becoming more mischief. He would climb up and down the coffee table, open cupboard and drawers and take everything out and hide them. When I say "No", he gets mad and start throwing things. I wonder where does his personality come from...
今日は節分で豆まきをしたかったけど豆まき用の豆がなかったので，ウィリアムがおやつに食べてるココアパフをまきました。あんまり興味なかったっぽい。
It was Setsubun (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Setsubun) today so I wanted to throw soybeans, but I couldn't get the right beans here, so we threw some cocoa puffs (William's snacks). William didn't seem so interested. :(
