シリコン製ケーキ型 Silicone Springform Pan

クリスマスプレゼントの一つとしてシリコン製ケーキ型をもらいました。今日それを使ってチーズケーキを作ってみました。このケーキ型そこが抜けるタイプなのですが，底の部分が耐熱性ガラスで，焼いた後に側面のシリコンの部分だけ外すだけでそのガラスの上でデコレーションしてそのまま出すことができる優れもの。こういうの好き。

I got this silicone springform pan as a Christmas gift. I used it today for the first time to bake cheesecake. The pan has a heat proof glass bottom and you can just decorate your cake on the glass and serve. How genius!

ところで，せっかくウィリアムが好きだからと思ってチーズケーキを作ったけれど，ウィリアムはもっとカップケーキが食べたかったようで（昨日作ったのがもうなくなってしまったので），しかたなくカップケーキも作りました。人参カップケーキ。野菜食べないからこういうところで投入しないと。これ意外とおいしいんです。今日はこの他にもホームベーカリーでチーズのパンも焼いたし，ずっと台所にいた感じがする。

By the way, I baked this cheesecake thinking William loves it, but he wanted cupcakes instead (the ones I baked yesterday were gone already), so I baked some cupcakes as well. They are carrot cupcakes. I need to throw in some vegetables in cupcakes and pancakes and stuff since William doesn't eat veggies otherwise. The carrot cupcakes actually taste pretty good. Besides cheesecake and cupcakes, I baked cheese bread as well. I think I spent most of the day in the kitchen.

カップケーキ Cupcakes

家庭訪問先の人たちに持って行くためにカップケーキを作りました。というか，ウィリアムがカップケーキを食べたいと言うので作ったのをそのままよそにも持って行ったのですが。日本から持ってきたかわいい文字の入れ替えられるスタンプ？で訪問先の人たちの名前を押して持って行きました。これなかなかいいかも。

I baked cupcakes to take to my visiting teachees. Actually William wanted to have some, so I baked some for him and took the rest to 5 of my visiting teachees and my visiting teaching companion. I used this stamp I bought in Japan to write their names on the frosting. It worked great. :)

おうむ返し Repeat Words

最近ウィリアムはだいぶ言葉を学んできています。わたしが何か言うと，同じ言葉を繰り返して言って覚えていったりします。言葉を使ってくれるようになったおかげで，コミュニケーションがずいぶん楽に取れるようになってきました。

ビデオは，「さてさて」と言ったらそれをまねしてきたところ。

Lately, William is learning so many words. Often times he repeats the words I say and tries to remember the words. Today, he repeated after me saying "sate sate" meaning "well"or "now". It's so much easier to communicate with him now that he started to use words. 

オバマ大統領ボイシ訪問 President Obama in Boise

今日午後，オバマ大統領がボイシを訪問し，ボイシ州立大学で40分ほどの演説をしました。ウィリアムもいたし，行けなかったけれどテレビで生中継で見ました。オバマ大統領は民主党，でもアイダホ州のほとんどの人は共和党。演説を聞いた共和党の人たちは何を思ったか。。。

President Obama visited Boise this afternoon and gave a speech at Boise State University for about 40 minutes. I couldn't make it with William with me, but I watched it live on TV. President Obama is a Democrat, but most of the people in Idaho are Republicans. I wonder what those Republicans thought about his speech.

活動の日 Activity Days

ちょっと見にくいですが，エクササイズしてます。

It's a little blurry, but we are exercising.

今晩は初等協会の8歳から11歳までの女の子たちが集う「活動の日」でした。今日は教会でエクササイズをしました。最近はやっているZumba（ズンバ）ダンスみたいな感じでした。それから果物（りんご，バナナ，オレンジ）の効力を学んで実際にそれらの果物をいただきました。たくさん果物よういしたのに全部終わっちゃった。11人プラス教会でほかの活動で集まっていた子たちも来て食べたりしてたから。久しぶりに運動して疲れたけれど面白かったです。

There was Activity Days this evening at church. We did Zumba dance-like exercise. Then we learned the benefits of fruits (apples, bananas, and oranges) and ate them. I brought so much of them but they were all gone since there were 11 girls who came to the activity, and those who were attending other meetings at church came in as we started eating. Anyway, it had been a while since I exercised last, so it made me tired, but it was very fun.

法隆寺の五重塔 Horyuji Temple's Five Story Pagoda

日本にいるときに奈良の法隆寺で買った・・・・・・のではなく，東京国際博物館で買った法隆寺の模型の組み立てが今日終わりました！全部ブライアンがやりました。細かい作業で大変そうでした。お疲れ様～。

We bought a model kit of Horyuji Temple's five story pagoda while we were in Japan. Today we finished the assembly (well, Brian did it all). The pieces were so small and seemed so hard to assemble. Good job Brian!

韓国バーベキューソース Korean BBQ Sauce

これは昨日の夕飯のピザですが，普通のピザソースの代わりにWhole Foodsというお店で売っている韓国バーベキューソースを使って作りました。とってもおいしいくてお勧めです！今回はピザの生地もホームベーカリーにやってもらったので苦労せずにおいしくできてよかったです。

This is our dinner from last night. I used Korean BBQ sauce sold at Whole Foods instead of regular pizza sauce. It is Soooo good! I highly recommend it. It was so easy to make this pizza since I just let my bread machine to make the dough.
