ボウリング Bowling

今晩は家庭の夕べでボウリングをしました。まだこの家に引っ越してきたばかりのころに始めてやった時にはウィリアムは歩いてなくて，ただただボールが転がってピンが倒れるのを見てケタケタ笑っていたけれど，今ではボールを持って真上から叩きつけ。笑　大きくなりました。

We played bowls for the Family Home Evening activity. When we first played it not long after we moved into this house, William wasn't even walking and just laughed out loud as he watched the ball stroke the pins. Now he throws the ball from right above the pins. (-_-;) He has grown so much.

今日の夕飯はフランス料理。アッシェパルマンティエというマッシュポテトベースのピューレの間にハンバーグが入っている感じで，トップにたっぷりのチーズを乗せて焼いたもの。それとホームベーカリーがフランスパンを作ってくれました。どちらもおいしかった～。

We had French cuisine called Hachis Parmentier (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hachis_Parmentier) for dinner tonight. And my bread machine baked French bread. They were both delicious!

そしてこちらが昨日話した水仙の芽。数日前は地面からちょっと芽を出していただけだったのに，今日見たらもうこんなに大きくなっていた！

And this is the daffodils I mentioned yesterday. They were just coming out of the ground when I saw them a few days ago, but today they were already this tall!

いとこ同士 Cousins

毎週日曜日，ブライアンの両親たちや妹夫婦の家族など，皆で集まって夕飯を食べますボイシから30分ほど離れたコールドウェルというところまで行きます。ウィリアムより6週間先に生まれたいとこ（ブライアンの妹の子）がいて，一緒に遊ぶのですが，大抵おもちゃの取り合いをしたりして泣くに至ります。これは一緒におもちゃの車で一応仲良く？遊んでいるところ。

On Sundays, we usually go to Caldwell which is about 30 minutes away from Boise to have dinner with the family; Brian's parents, Brian's sister's family, etc. William has a cousin who was born only six weeks before he was born. They play together but a lot of times one ends up crying for being their toys taken, etc. In this picture they look like they are getting along well I think.

今日はとっても暖かくて天気がそれなりによかったので，午後からボイシ動物園に遊びに行くことにしました。ところが町中の人たちが同じことを考えていたようで，駐車場が路上も含めてまったく止めるところがなく，駐車場を探して並んでいる車の列の長いこと。あきらめて家に戻り，近くの小学校の遊具で遊ぶことにしました。

まだ2月になったばかりなのに昨日庭の水仙の芽が出ているのを見つけました。写真撮り忘れてしまったのでまた後日。ちなみにこれだけ長い間生きていて知らなかったのは恥ずかしいのですが，小春日和ってタイトルにしようとしたけれど，小春は太陽暦の11月だそうで，冬の日に春のような暖かい日のことは「冬日和」と言うんだそうです。

It was such a warm day today that we decided to go out to the Boise zoo. However, apparently many people thought the same thing and we couldn't find any parking spot including the ones on the street. So, we gave up and came home and went to an elementary school playground.

I forgot to take a picture, but I found some daffodil sprouts coming out of the ground the other day and it's still the beginning of February!

今晩はピザを作って食べました。イタリアンソーセージとピーマンのピザ。最近はいつもホームベーカリーに生地を作ってもらうので楽ちんです。

And tonight, we had Italian sausage and green pepper pizza for dinner. My bread machine makes the dough, so it's so easy to make pizza now.

韓国料理 Korean Food

ちょっとテーブルクロス汚れてますが（笑）

今晩の夕食は韓国料理でした。最近知り合いにいただいた料理本を使って作ってみました。プルコギにチヂミ，カクテキ。いちばんおいしかったのはプルコギ♪韓国料理最高ー！！

We had Korean food for dinner tonight. I wanted to try out some of the food out of the Korean cookbook I got from a friend recently, and cooked Bulgogi, Chijimi, and Ggakdugi. Our favorite was Bulgogi. We love Korean food!!

ピック Picks

今日は，ウィリアムほぼ一日これで遊びました。食事をあんまりちゃんとしないから，動機付けにと去年日本で買ってきた動物のピックを小さく切ったサンドイッチ一つ一つに刺してみたら，うまいこと全部食べてくれました！でもその後が。。。30分はハイチェアに座ったままでピックで遊び，椅子から降りてからもずーっとほぼ一日これ。ちなみにこのお皿が動物たちにお家という設定になっています。。。明日もこれで遊ぶのかな。。。

William played almost all day with these animal picks. I used them to motivate him to eat some sandwich for breakfast this morning since he doesn't want to eat real food that much. Well, the pick strategy was successful. He had all the sandwich on the plate, but he just wanted to play with these picks forever! He at least sat on the highchair for 30 minutes, then still played after I put him down. Oh by the way, the plate is a house for the animals... I wonder he would want to play with the picks again tomorrow...

船 Boats

最近ウィリアムがはまっているのが船。折り紙の船をたくさん作らされています。その船の上にアヒルさんやトーマスなどを乗せて遊んでいます。ちなみに今朝起きて一言目は「ふね？」でした。笑

Lately, William is into paper boats. He has made me make many of them and loves to put rubber ducky and other animals and Thomas, etc on them. He loves boats so much that the first word he said right after he got up today was "boat?". lol

豆まき Throwing Soybeans

一日早いですが，今晩豆まきをしました。鬼のお面を作って，豆まき用の豆を作って，豆を入れる箱を折り紙で作って，と面倒だったけれど，なんとか豆まきができてよかったです。ウィリアムも「おにわーそと，ふくわーうち」と真似して言ってました（＾ｖ＾）

It's a day early, but we celebrated Setsubun today (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Setsubun). I had to make a demon mask, roasted soybeans, a origami paper box to put the beans in... yeah a lot of work, but it was worth it. We had fun throwing beans in the house! William even said "Oni wa soto, Fuku wa uchi"(Demons out, luck in!). :)

それから一応節分ってことで，恵方巻きを作りました。静岡にはない習慣だけどなぜかアメリカでやってるという。笑

And I made Maki suhi for Setsubun. I believe people in western Japan eat them for Setsubun. I had never had them in Shizuoka. It's kind of funny how I make them here in the US.
