誕生会 Birthday Party

今日は家族との夕食の後，家族3人の誕生会をまとめてやりました。ブライアンの妹コリーと，その夫のマイカと，ブライアンとコリーの妹のメイリーの誕生日祝いです。チョコチーズケーキとアイスケーキ（ストロベリーチーズ味）でお祝いしました。どちらもおいしかった～♪

We had a birthday party for Cori, Micah and MeiLi after family dinner tonight. We celebrated their birthdays with some yummy chocolate cheesecake and ice cream cake (strawberry cheesecake flavor). they were both yummy!

これは夕飯食べに家族の家に向かっている途中の車の中。ウィリアムのサングラス，さかさまだけど，どうしてもこうやってかけるんだっていうことを聞きませんでした。

This is on the way to dinner tonight. William insisted he put his sunglasses this way. 

ハンバーガー Hamburger

今日は夕飯にハンバーガーをすることにしました。冷凍のパティーが残っていたので，それを使って，バンは自分で焼きました。初めてにしてはまあ上出来だと思ったけれど，ちょっと硬かったなあ。

There were some frozen hamburger patties left from last summer, so we decided to have hamburgers for dinner. We weren't planing on it, so didn't have buns, so I baked them. It turned out pretty good for the first try, but it would have been better if they were a bit softer.

それから今日は，ちょっと前に知り合いから注文しておいたガールスカウトクッキーが来ました！これがおいしいんですよ～。夕飯の後にさっそく一箱開けて食べました。

I recently ordered some Girl Scouts Cookies through my friend's girl, and we got them today! If you don't know, they are so yummy! We already had some after dinner. :)

またクッキー Cookies Again

これは昨日の投稿分だけど，またクッキーを作りました。おとといのと比べると全然焦げてなくておいしくできました。

夜はちょっと前にもらった日本の料理本に載っていた，ケンタロウの鮭の味噌バター焼きと粉ふきサツマイモを作りました。味噌味の魚やっぱおいしい！

This post was supposed to be for yesterday, but I baked animal cookies again and didn't burn them this time!

And for dinner tonight, I cooked salmon with miso and butter, and some yams. I love miso flavored fish!

それから今日（21日，日本では昨日）は妹の次男の誕生日だったので，プレゼントはないけどウィリアムに誕生日おめでとうの紙を持たせて写真を送りました。これ撮るのに10回以上シャッター押して大変だった！

Yesterday (today in the US) was my sister's 2nd son, Kanta's birthday, so I made William hold a piece of paper saying Happy Birthday and email the picture to my sister for him. Just to take a perfect picture, I had to take more than 10 pictures!

今日も長い一日 Another Long Day

今日も一日長かった～。夕べは疲れていて早めに寝たのに，ウィリアムが夜何度もうなされて，こちらが眠れず（－＿－；）おかげでまた昼間すごく眠くてまた1時間以上ウィリアムの布団の上で寝っころがっていた時間がありました。そんなわたしにウィリアムはおもちゃの食べ物を食べさせようとして幾つも持って来て，わたしはもうろうとしながら食べるふりをしていました（笑）。ところで今日はまた別のクッキーを作りました。これくらいかな，今日やったことは。でもちょっと焦げちゃった。元気があれば明日もまた作るかな。

It was a long day again today. I was dead tired yesterday, so I went to bed earlier, but William was groaning in his sleep and kept waking me up. So, I was again super tired today and took a nap (or trying to take a nap) on William's futon again for over an hour. While I was lying down, William was bringing all the toy foods to eat, so I had to pretend like I was eating them feeling half awake. William and I baked cookies again. They came out a little burned though. We might bake some more again tomorrow if I have the energy.

ところで今日はまだブライアンのトラックがカーショップにあったので，ブライアンを仕事に送り迎えすることになったんだけれど，帰りに迎えに行くときに，ずーっと一本の道を行けば着くはずなのに迷ってしまった。迷ってから気付いたけれど，そもそも最初から間違った道をまっすぐ走っていたので，そりゃ～着くはずがないわ。疲れていると何もまともにできない。今日は良く寝れるといいな。

By the way, Brian's truck was still in the car shop, so we all drove to his work this morning, and William and I were supposed to come get him later. There is no way anyone can get lost to get to his work since you just have to drive on a same road, but guess what, I got lost! I didn't realize until I got lost that I was on a wrong road to begin with! I can't do anything right when I'm tired. Hope I can sleep well tonight.

長い一日 A Long Day

今日はすごく一日が長く感じました。夕べ仕事をしていて朝6時過ぎまで寝ずに起きていて疲れていたのと，ブライアンのトラックを修理に出したので今日はブライアンが車に乗って仕事に行ってしまい，どこにも出かけることができなかったので，家にずっといたということもあるかな。ウィリアムにカップケーキを作ってあげる約束をしていたけどめんどうくさかったので，簡単にできるクッキーを作って二人でむしゃむしゃ食べました。午後すごく眠くなって，ウィリアムはほおっておいて，一人で横になってちょっと寝ました（笑）

I seemed so long today. I guess I was so tired since I stayed up all night until six this morning. Plus William and I couldn't go out because Brian took his truck to the shop this morning and took our car to work. We were home all day and you know you can do only so much inside. I had promised William to bake some cupcakes, but I thought it was too much work, so I just baked some easy chocolate chip cookies instead. I got really really sleepy in the afternoon at one point and just lied down on William's futon mattress and slept about an hour. 

今晩はベイクドポテトスープ。わたしたちのお気に入り。簡単だしおいしいし♪

We had baked potato soup tonight. This is our favorite. So easy and yummy.

メッセージキット Compliment Kit

昨日時間がなくって投稿できなかったのだけれど，夕べは教会の「活動の日」（8歳から11歳までの女の子たちの活動）があってメッセージキットを作りました。小さい箱にペンや付箋，メモ用紙やカードを作って入れて持ち運び，だれかにメッセージ（感謝の手紙やちょっとした暖かい言葉など）を書きたいと思ったときにすぐに書けるようにするというものです。わたしもちょっと作りました。といっても小さいカードにシールを貼っただけですが。

I didn't have time to update my blog yesterday, but last night I went to Activity Days for the Primary girls ages 8 to 11. We made a compliment kit. In a small box, you put some cards, post-it, a pen, stickers to give a little note to someone whenever you want. I made one, but it wasn't as creative as girls'. I just put stickers on cards.

大統領誕生日 Presidents' Day

今日はワシントン大統領とリンカーン大統領の誕生記念日でした。天気が良かったのでどこかに行きたいところだったけど，わたしは仕事をしなければならなかったので，ブライアンがウィリアムを連れて買い物に行ったり，動物園に行ったりしてくれました。一緒に行けなくて残念だったけれど，独りだけの時間も静かでよかったです（笑）仕事に集中できました。

It was Presidents' Day today. Since it was such a nice day, I wanted to go out, but I had to work. :( Brian took William to the store and the zoo, and took care of him all day so that I can work on my project. I wish I could have gone out with them, but it was kind of nice to have a quiet time by myself at home. I could definitely focus on the job better.

今晩はスパゲティーミートソース。明日の夜もこの残りを食べるから作らなくていいのでうれしい！

We had spaghetti meat sauce for dinner tonight. We'll be having the leftover tomorrow night, so I don't have to cook, yay!

夕飯の後は，月曜恒例の家庭の夕べをしました。ウィリアムの要望で先週に引き続きボウリングをすることになりました。来週もやらされる可能性大。。。

After dinner, we had Family Home Evening. William wanted to play bowls again, so that's what we did for the activity. I have a feeling he wants to play bowls again next week...
