うっぷん晴らし The Way to Get Rid of Frustraion

今日は膠原病の医者との予約があって行ってきたのだけれど，その先生に腹が立って気分がおさまらなかったのもあったのか，いろいろ買い物に行って買ってしまった（－＿－；）チョコレートにクッキーに靴に。。。でも貧乏性なので，チョコもクッキーも50パーセントオフ，靴は15ドル。ちなみにウィリアムのナイキの靴は42ドルです！（しかもまだ2歳なのにこれで3足目のナイキ！）

I had an appointment with my rheumatologist today and got mad at her. So, to get rid of the frustration, I went shopping and spent a good amount of money on chocolate, cookies, shoes, etc. But since I'm cheap, both chocolate and cookies were 50 percent off and my shoes were $15. William's Nike shoes were over 40 bucks! And these are his 3rd pair of Nike and he is only two!!

図書館第二弾 Library #2

今日は昨日に引き続いて図書館へ。昨日は読み聞かせと音楽だったけれど，今日のは音楽とちょっとした手遊びなどを取り入れたやつでウィリアムにはぴったり。だと思ったけれど，あんまり反応せず，最後のプラスチックの卵のマラカスが出てきたときだけシャカシャカ振ってました。でも水曜日のこれ，結構いい！

William and I went to the library again. Today they had "Music & Movement" for kids ages 2 to 5. I thought William would enjoy this, but he wasn't participating at all until the instructor got a basket out filled with plastic eggs (they were supposed to be maracas). I liked this better than the story time.

図書館からTargetに直行して，必要な物を買いながら，ずっと買いたいと思っていた靴用ラックを買いました。いちばん安いやつ。でもこれで十分♪スッキリ。

We went to Target directly from the library to get some things I needed to get, and I wasn't planning on it, but I bought a shoe rack. We really needed it though. It was the cheapest ones there but it serves the purpose. 


ところで，今晩6時過ぎころから雷が鳴りだして雨が降り初めてどしゃ降りになって，30分以上振り続けてこのあたりではめずらしい大雨でした。おかげでずいぶんその後涼しくなってよかったけれど，明日蒸し暑そう。

This evening starting around 6pm, we had a thunder storm. It rained pretty hard and lasted more than 30 minutes. It hardly rains like that here. It felt so much cooler after that, but it might get a bit humid tomorrow.

図書館 Library

今日はものすごく久しぶりに図書館の読み聞かせに参加してきました。ウィリアムを無理やり連れて行きました。本を読んでくれていたときも，最後のシャボン玉のときもいたって静か。あんまり興味がなかったようす。その後おもちゃが出てきたら，遊びだしました。でも1歳くらいの子に自分が使っていたおもちゃを取られて怒っておもちゃを投げまくってました。（－＿－；）　昨日集まった日本人のお母さん一人とお子さんも来ていたり，同じワードの友達も来てたし，去年チャレンジグループを通して知り合った人もいたりして，今日行ってよかった～。

William and I went to the story time at the library for the first time in a long time. William didn't want to go, but I just made him go. He was quietly sitting while the books were read, and didn't show much interest in the bubbles. He got excited when they put toys out, but got mad and started throwing toys when a little kid started playing with the toys William was playing. :( I met a lady who used to be in the same facebook workout group last year for the first time in person, saw a Japanese mom and two sons who came to the mom-kids activity yesterday, and one of my friends in the same ward was came too. I was glad I went.

今晩6時から同じ教会の女の人たちの「Boring Women's Group」（つまらない女性のグループ）というグループの初の集まりがあって，近くのU-Swirlというフローズンヨーグルトのお店に行ってきました。自分の好きなフローズンヨーグルトをカップに入れて量り売りのセルフサービスが気に入りました。その後映画鑑賞（シンデレラ）もあったけれど，わたしとウィリアムはフローズンヨーグルトだけ食べて帰ってきました。アイスクリームよりも軽い感じでとてもおいしかったです♪また今度行きたいです。

William and I also went to a women's group called "Boring Women's Group". One of the sisters in the ward started it recently and today was the first time we had the activity. We met at U-Swirl (frozen yogurt place) and some people went to see Cinderella afterward. Of course William and I came home since William wouldn't be able to sit through the movie. I loved the frozen yogurt! I want to go back there again.

これは，今年初めてうちの畑で取れたズッキーニ♪　だんだん大きくなってきたなあと思っているうちにすごく大きくなってしまいました。大きさを比べるためにうちわと撮ってみました。

We got our first zucchini for the year! I saw it the other day and thought we could pick it soon, but in a few days it grew so much! I took the picture right next to a fan. Can you tell how big the zucchini is?

ベビーの会 Japanese Moms-Kids Group

今日久しぶりに（2回目）ボイシ周辺に在住の日本人のお母さんと子供たちのグループの集まり（ベビーの会）に行ってきました。明日が七夕ということもあって，今日は七夕の飾りを作りました。ウィリアムは全然作ろうとしてくれなかったからほとんどわたしが作りました～。でもできた作品を見てちょっとはうれしかったみたいです。ウィリアムはそこのお宅にあったおもちゃで遊べて喜んでいました。いつも日本人の方と接するときはとても緊張します。でも今回は初めてのときよりも少し気楽に参加できてよかったです。

William and I wen to a meeting for the Japanese moms and kids who are in the Boise area. It was our second time. The last time I was way too nervous to be surrounded by Japanese people and didn't feel all that comfortable, but today I felt a lot better about being there. Since tomorrow is Tanabata, we made some Tanabata decoration. William wasn't so into making it, and I had to do it most of the work, but he seemed to like the end product. :) He just loved playing with the toys that were there (one of the Japanese mom's house).

天気予報ハズレ！ Wrong Weather Forecast

天気予報によれば今日もすごく暑くなる予定だったのに，全然ハズレました！（よかったけど）
一日中曇ってたし，夕方には少し雨も降って，とても過ごしやすい一日でした。残りの夏，毎日こんな感じだといいのになあ。暑くなかったので，午後教会から帰って落ち着いた後に，ウィリアムの大好きな神殿に行ってきました。夕方雨が降り出す前に行って来れてよかったです。

その後はコールドウェルに住むブライアンの家族との食事会。いつもはブライアンの妹家族の家でやるけど，今日は両親の家で，ブライアンの家族とわたしたちだけ。昨日病院に入院することになったブライアンのおばあちゃん（ブライアンのお母さんの母親）の話で盛り上がり？ました。出される食べ物をまったく食べなかったり，薬を飲むのを拒否したりしてるそうなので，それらをちゃんと摂取して少しでも元気になってくれるといいです。

It was supposed to be super hot today, but it turned to be a nice day, cloudy all day and not hot at all. It even rained a little in the afternoon. Since it wasn't hot, we took William to the temple ground (his favorite place) and played there in the afternoon.

And in the evening, we drove down to Brian's parents in Caldwell for dinner. Usually we have dinner at the Strassers (Brian's sister's home), but they went to the Strassers (Brian's sister's in-laws), so we were just with Brian's family. We talked a lot about Brian's grandma who was hospitalized. Hope she will not refuse to eat and take medicines!!

アメリカ独立記念日 Happy 4th of July!

今日はアメリカの独立記念日でした。午前中は，義理の弟のマイカ（ブライアンの妹の夫）が軍隊の楽隊でCalwellのパレードに出るということで，家族親族集まってパレードを見てきました。パレードの人たちがキャンディーを投げてくれるので，みんな子供たちはたくさん拾っていました。ウィリアムもたくさんもらいました。

It was 4th of July today. In the morning, we drove down to Caldwell to see a parade which my brother-in-law (Brian's sister's husband) was in. He was leading the army band. I liked how those in the parade would throw candies! Totally my kind of parade!

その後はブライアンのお母さんの友人が担当？しているCaldwellの昔の暮らしが分かる，昔の物（農業用の大型機械，列車，家など）が置かれている公園？みたいなところに行ってきました。そこに列車や風車など，ウィリアムの大好きなものがそろっていて，ウィリアムはもう大喜び。ウィリアムの大好きなメイリー伯母さん（といってもまだ中学生）とも遊べたし。

After the parade, we went to this place, I don't know what to call it exactly. There were old trains, farming tractors, windmills, an old house for this teacher who used to teach in Caldwell, etc. Old things that existed in Caldewll. William was super excited because his favorite things were all there - train, windmill, mill, other machines, and he got to spend time with his favorite auntie MeiLi. He was so happy.

さらにその後，ブライアンの妹のコリー（マイカの妻）の家に行き，ランチを食べた後に，子供たちのための「カーニバル」をしました。水鉄砲で卓球のボールを狙うゲームや，風船にダーツを投げて割るゲーム，ケークウォーク（Cake Walk)というゲームなどなど，子供たちはみんな楽しんでいました。ウィリアムはいつもつまらない生活をしていることもあって，とても楽しんでました。こんなふうにして遊べるいとこや友達がいつも近くにいたらなあと思います。

And after that, we went to the Strassers (Brian's sister's), had lunch, and had a carnival for kids. There were different games the kids could play and everybody was having a great time. William was so happy all day since he normally doesn't get to do much at all during the weekdays. I wish we lived closer to other family members or he had close friends near by whom he could play with all the time.

夜は花火に行く予定でしたが，ウィリアムが昼寝をしなかったので疲れて8時には寝てしまい，断念。ウィリアムとテレビでワシントンDCのお祝いコンサートと花火を見ました。長い一日だったけれどとても楽しかったです♪

We were planning on going to see the fireworks at night, but William didn't take his nap as usual and went to bed by 8, so we didn't get to go, but Brian and I watched 4th of July celebration concert and fireworks in DC on TV, so that was good enough this year. It was a long day, but I had a great time.

まだダイエット中です！ Still On A Diet!!

二日ぶりです。というのも毎日暑くてスーパーの買い出しと郵便物の確認以外どこにも行ってなくて，家で大したことをすることもなくて特に何も書くことなかったので。明日はアメリカ独立記念日ということで，まあ土曜日ですが祝日です。今日は金曜だったけれどブライアンがお休みだったので，家族3人で一緒に買い物に出かけたり，バーベキュー（ホットドック）しました。先日ダイエット始めたと書いたけれど，まだやってます！ホットドックとチップスがっつり食べましたが。苦笑　明日はハンバーガーする予定です♪

It's been two days since I wrote last time. I didn't have much to say since it's been super hot outside and we have been staying inside all day long doing nothing special. Brian got a day off today since Independence Day falls on Saturday this year. We went grocery shopping together this morning and worked in the yard and had a BBQ hot dog for dinner. Yes, I'm still on a diet. lol Tomorrow we are planning on having BBQ hamburgers. :)

そうそう，今日はうれしいニュースと悲しいニュースが。うれしいニュースは，教会が毎年募集している音楽のコンテスト？があるのだけれど，その結果が今日来て，今年初めて特別賞をもらえたこと。曲の所有権は自分に残るけれど，教会が教会の発行する雑誌やウェブサイトなどで自由に使用することができるようになります。

I have both good and sad news today. The good news is that I received a special recognition for the music I submitted to the church. I have submitted music several times now and this is the first time I got any type of recognition. This just made my day! My song will be on the church magazines and websites whenever the church decides to use it. The ownership will remain with me though.

悲しいニュースは，先日のペリー長老に引き続き，十二使徒定員会会長のボイド・K・パッカー会長が享年90歳でお亡くなりになられたこと。兵士として日本に来日して以来，使徒として何度も来日して日本の聖徒たちを愛してくれました。ご冥福をお祈りします。

The sad news is that President Packer of the quorum of twelve apostle passed away today around 2pm. He was 90 years old. I heard from my mother-in-law that he attended a new mission president seminar that was held entire week last week. Apostles are amazing! They literally keep moving forward until the end of their lives! President packer first came to Japan as a soldier when he was young, then visited so many times as an apostle. He loved Japanese saints. We'll miss him.
