ハンバーグ Hamburg Steak

これはおとといの夕飯だけれど，ブライアンがハンバーグ好きで結構よく作ります。結婚して初めて作った時，超硬い石のようなやつが出来上がって自分でもびっくりしたのを覚えているけれど，今は結構上手にできるようになりました。タレのレシピを毎回オンラインで検索して作るのだけど，毎回違ったレシピを使うので，毎回味が違います。今回のは，なんか照り焼きソースみたいな感じでした。おいしかったけど，個人的にはもっとしょっぱい感じのがいいな。

This is from dinner the night before, but I often cook hamburg steak since Brian likes it. I remember when I first cooked it as a newly wed, it turned out to be as hard as a rock! Now that I have more experience, I can cook it a lot better. I just need to work on the sauce a little bit more. Every time I make the sauce, I go online for the recipe, but every time I use a different recipe, so every time it taste different. This time it tasted like Teriyaki flavor. It was good, but I like it a little saltier.

久しぶりにピーナッツバタークッキーを作りました。これがおいしいんだな，また。ついつい食べすぎちゃう。。。

It's been a while since I baked peanut butter cookies. I love these. Once I start eating, I can't stop.

ホームベーカリー第一作 First Bread with Bread Machine

これがホームベーカリーで焼いた最初のパン，「パン・ド・ミ」です。ちょっと形がいびつかもしれないけど，皮はパリパリ，中はふわふわでとってもおいしい！二回目にはご飯の残りを入れて「ごはんパン」を作りました。これは中がもちもちしていてこちらもとってもおいしかった！ホームベーカリー最高♪

This is the first bread made by the bread machine I just purchased. Outside was crispy and inside was so soft. It was just amazingly tasty! I baked again with leftover rice, and this one was more moist inside. Both turned out great and I'm loving my new bread machine so far!

ウィリアムが市販のパンを食べなくなって，毎日パンを作る時間の余裕もないので，先日思い切ってホームベーカリーを購入しました。迷いに迷って，評判のよかったパナソニックの最新のやつにしました。これでウィリアムがパンを食べなかったら苦笑いするしかないです。残ったご飯でもパンが作れるし，お餅もできるのでとても楽しみです。

I ordered a bread machine online the other day because William stopped eating store bought bread, and I don't have time to bake bread from scratch every single day. This was an expensive purchase, but I'm really excited to start using it. It makes bread out of leftover rice, and even makes mochi!! I have to laugh if William doesn't eat the bread.

新年会 New Year Party

アイダホ在住日本人会の新年会に行ってきました。今年でボイシに来てから4年目の正月ですが，これまで一度も行ったことがありませんでした。子供たちの手遊びの発表や，おいしい料理，餅つき，子供用のお面作りなど，楽しい時間を過ごしました。新しい人との出会いもあり，参加していたある中国人の夫婦に中国語で話しかけたら通じたのがうれしかった～！

I went to a New Year party for Idaho Japanese association today. This is my 4th New Year here in Boise, but I had never been to the party before. We enjoyed children's performance, good food, mochi pounding, etc. I met some new people there and even spoke to a Chinese couple in Chinese and they understood me! That made me happy. :)

明けましておめでとうございます！ Happy New Year!!

2015年がスタートしました。皆さん今年もよろしくお願いします。新年ということで，ブログの雰囲気を変えてみました♪自分らしい背景はないかと探していたら，ありました。らしいでしょ！

2014年のしめくくりには年越しそばを作って食べました。いつもはかき揚げだけだけど，今回はズッキーニとサツマイモの天ぷらも作りました（ずっとあって使い道に困っていただけなんですが）。

Since the new year has started, I wanted to change the template for the blog. I think the background of it pretty much sums up my life. lol

For the last dinner for the year 2014, we had Toshikoshi Soba (year-crossing buckwheat noodles) with tempura. We try to incorporate Japanese culture in our life as much as we can.

今日，元旦はアメリカに来て初めてお雑煮を作りました。毎年めんどうくさくて磯部巻きを食べていたので，実家で食べていたのと同じものが食べれてうれしかったです。わたしの実家のお雑煮は，しょうゆベースで，大根と里芋が入っています。それに鰹節をかけて食べます。

For the first meal for the new year, we had mochi (rice cake) in soup. I used to eat this every year when I was living in Japan, but I hadn't had it since I moved out here. It definitely made my day.

そして夕飯は正月から餃子。朝から食べ過ぎて（昼はわたしは天ぷらそばの残りを食べました），お腹がいっぱいだったので夕飯は餃子とご飯で十分でした。まあ食事の合間にいろいろお菓子も食べたりしたんですけどね。というわけで相変わらず良く食べています。

And for dinner, we had gyoza (pot stickers). I had so much food all day long including sweets and snacks. So, I still love to eat A LOT. lol

今日は朝からウィリアムが良くお手伝いをしてくれて，良い一年になるような気がしました（笑）。でも初夢の中でウィリアムが前に顔を5針縫ったところのすぐ下をさらに深く大きく切って，「ER!!（緊急治療室）」と叫んでいる自分がいたので，どんな年になるのか。と，こんな感じですが，今年は頻繁にブログをアップできるように頑張りたいと思いますのでよろしくお願いします。

William helped out with unloading the dishes this morning and I felt like this year was going to be a great year. On the other hand, a part of my first dream was William getting hurt and I was screaming saying "ER!!!" So, we'll see how this year is going to turn out. My goal this year is to update my blog as often as I can, so we'll see how I'll do on that as well.

クリスマスでオバノン家が皆そろったところで家族写真を撮ってもらいました。家族の友達のレイチェルがいつも撮ってくれます。

Since our family got together for Christmas, we had family pictures taken. Our friend, Rachel does a great job. :)
