今日は朝からいろいろやりました。8時半からの教会の掃除に出かけ，帰ってきてから朝ごはんを済ませて庭の手入れをしました。今日今年2本目のズッキーニが取れました！ブライアンは，芝刈りをするときに，先日購入した電動の芝刈り機を初めて使いました。手押しの芝刈り機では刈れなかった高く伸びてしまった草もみごとに刈れて感動！そうこうしているうちにお昼の時間になって，午後からは今月誕生日のウィリアムのいとこのエジソン君にあげるプレゼントを買いに行き，わたしはそれからウィリアムの短パンが3着しかなかったので，この冬に着ていた長ズボン2着を短く切って裾を縫って短パンを作りました。これで5着♪そうこうしているうちに今度は夕飯の時間になって，夕方の急な嵐にもかかわらず，バーベキュー決行（笑）まあハンバーグだけですが。写真はないけれど，ブライアンの希望でテリたまバーガーでした。ウィリアムは朝6時半に起きたので疲れていて7時前に寝てしまいました。おかげで今晩は3週間ほど手をつけていなかった中国語も少し勉強できました。充実した一日でした。


It feels like we did a lot today. We went to the church for the building clean up at 8:30 in the morning. After we got back, we had breakfast and worked on our yard. I got rid of the unwanted rose bush and some others, and Brian mowed the lawn with our new power mower for the first time. It cut all the grass that had grown so tall nicely. Love it! By the time we were done, it was almost lunch time. In the afternoon, we went out to shop for birthday gifts for Edison, William's cousin. After we got back from the store, I made two pair of shorts for William out of William's long pants. Now he has five pair of shorts. :) Then it was almost dinner time. We were going to have BBQ hamburgers, but we had a rain storm. But Brian was determined to have teriyaki egg burger, so he barbecued hamburger patties in the rain with umbrella. lol William got up 6:30 this morning and was so tired by dinner time. He went to bed before 7. It's so nice to have been able to have free time once in a while. I studied some Chinese I hadn't done for like 3 weeks. It was a very productive day.
