ウォールマートからの神殿 Walmart, Then The Temple

今日はお昼ごはんを食べた後にウォールマートに買い物に行きました。ウィリアムが遊べるように子供用のプールと，バーベキュー用の炭と，ウィリアムのトーマスのおもちゃの電池を買いました。いつもそうだけれど，お店に行くときに神殿が見えて，今日もウィリアムが神殿神殿とずーっと騒いでいたので，一度家に戻って日焼け止めや帽子などを準備して，行きましたよ神殿。土曜日で結婚式があったらしく外で写真を撮っていたので，その人たちを避けて遊びました。暑い日だったのでウィリアムも顔真っ赤になってました。一応ウィリアム，要求を満たしてもらって落ち着いたのでよかった。

After we had lunch, we went to Walmart to get some stuff. We bought a kids pool for William, charcoal for BBQ, and new batteries for Thomas train. As always, we saw the temple on the way, and William started whining, wanting to the temple. He kept saying "temple", so we went home once to get a hat and sunscreen for William and headed to the temple. Since it was Saturday, there was a wedding and people were having picture taken on the temple ground, so we went around and played on the other side of where everybody else was. It was such a hot day that William's cheeks got all red, but I think he was happy that he got to go to the temple.

ところで神殿にいる間に，ある親子（母親と息子）がいて，その息子さんが今日伝道の召しをもらって，今からそこで封筒を開けるところだと言う。見ず知らずのわたしにその瞬間を録画してくれとお願いしてきて，もちろん快くオッケーしましたが，その男の子が召しを読んでるときに鳥肌がたちました。お母さんはなんと東京北で伝道したらしく，日本かなと期待したのですが，なんと，ガーナでした！伝道部の名前は忘れちゃったけれど，いやあすごいな，ガーナとはまた。9月にガーナの宣教師訓練センターに入所するそうです。がんばれ～！

While we were at the temple ground, there was this mother and the son. The son had just received his mission call that day and was just going to open the call there. The mother asked me to record it on their smart phone, so I did. She told me that she served in Tokyo North mission around 1991, so I thought he might go to Japan as well, but as he read the letter, I got goose bumps. He was called to Ghana!!! I can't remember which mission he was going to serve, but I was like Wow! He is going to Ghana MTC in September. I hope he will have a great mission!

今晩の夕飯はホットドック♪買ってきた炭でバーベキューして食べました。こういうジャンキーな食べ物やめられないわ（笑）

And hot dogs for dinner! I just can't stop eating junks. lol

またショッピング Shopping Again

毎週金曜日の朝，ウィリアムと食料品の買い物に行きます。今日は朝9時半ちょいすぎに家を出て，一時間以内で戻って来たけれど，ウィリアムが家に戻りたくないと駄々をこねて，仕方なしに荷物だけ片づけて（ウィリアムは車の中で待たせて車もエンジンかけたまま），そのまま今度はすぐ隣の市（メリディアン）のショッピングエリアに行きました。ナイキでウィリアムの靴を探したけれど探していたサイズがなく，その近くのベビーザラスでトレーニングおむつを買い，また家に戻って来たけれどまたわめいて，またその足で今度はターゲットに行きました。そこではウィリアムのトイレトレーニング用のパンツと，下着のシャツと，帽子，水着，それと今更ながらのブースターチェア。その時点ですでに12時半を回っていたのでもうさすがにわたしも疲れてきて，「Wendy'sにポテト買いに行ってお家で新しく買った椅子に座って食べよう！」と乗り気にさせてやっとこ家に戻って来ることができました。

On Friday mornings, William and I usually go grocery shopping. Today as we were coming home, he started whining and telling me how he didn't want to come home. He kept whining and whining, so I just put the groceries away and left for the Village (shopping mall in Meridian). There we went to Nike to find William's shoes (no luck), then to Babies r us and got a pull up diapers, and head home. As we came home, William still didn't want to get out the car and kept wanting to go out again. So, we left for Target and bought William a booster chair (Finally. He is almost 3. lol), swim pants, a hat, training pants, and shirts. Then I tried to get him excited by telling him that we should go to Wendy's to get some fries and go home and eat in the new chair I just bought him. At 1 pm we finally came home and this time actually made it to inside the house!

お昼ごはんを食べ終わった時点で2時。夕方からは裏庭で水遊び。全身ずぶ濡れになって全部着替えさせたけれど，短パンがゆるくて落ちてきてしまったようで，Tシャツとおむつ姿で夜までいました。

By the time we finished eating lunch it was 2 pm. We played outside with water. William got soaking wet and had to change his entire outfit. The shorts I put him on were too loose and he ended up being in his t-shirt and diaper until he took a bath tonight. 

今晩は天ぷら（かき揚げ）そば。いつもかき揚げがなかなかうまく行かないけれど，今日のは結構カラッと仕上がってくれてよかった。でも酢を入れすぎたっぽくて食べたときにちょっと酢っぽかったので次回はそこを改善すれば結構いけるかも。

I cooked Tempura soba for dinner tonight. My tempura never comes out perfectly. Tonight's turned out pretty good, except I put too much vinegar that I could taste it when I was eating it. I should be able to do better next time.

ショッピング Shopping

めったに行かないんだけれど，すぐ近くのショッピングモールにウィリアムと行ってきました。目的は父の日にブライアンにあげるプレゼントを買うため。See's Candyのチョコレートをあげようと思って。それだけのつもりで行ったけれど，結局日よけの帽子やウィリアムのドレスシューズも買ってしまった。でもどちらもセールだったしとても良い買い物ができてよかった。See's Candyではもちろんブライアンのチョコだけでなく，自分たちが食べる分用のも買いました♪帰宅直後に腹の中（笑）

I hardly go to the mall even though it's so close, but today I did with William. I wanted to go to See's Candy to get some chocolate for Brian for Father's Day. Of course I bought some for myself too. I also found a hat for sun protection and William's dress shoes. They were both on sale so it was a good buy.

これは今晩の夕飯。炊き込みご飯，ティラピアの味噌煮，しらたきのきんぴら。それぞれはおいしかったけれど，この組み合わせはよろしくなかった（笑）

This was our dinner tonight. Each dish tasted fine, but I don't think I'll serve them together again. Not the best combination.

本！本！本！ Books!!!

ここ最近ウィリアムがはまっていることは，本をたくさん読むこと。夜寝る前にブライアンが本を読んであげるんだけれど，少なくとも6冊（毎晩同じの）を本棚から引っ張り出してきて読んでもらい，しめにわたしが「だるまさん」の本をミニダルマと一緒に読んでやっと終了。今朝も10冊あれこれと本を持ってきて全部読まされました。夕べ仕事で遅くまで起きていたので眠くて眠くて，本を読みながらうたたねしちゃったよ。明日締め切りの仕事は今晩なんとか終わってホッ。

William is into reading books. Many many books. Of course Brian and I are the readers, but he at least wants Brian to read 6 books before he goes to bed, plus I have to read to him this Daruma book with using a small Daruma. This morning, he wanted me to read 10 books, and I did read them all, but I was falling asleep by the the time we were reading the last one because I stayed up until like 2am last night to work on my translation job. :( I'm glad that I'm done with the project now. 

ところでだんだん畑の野菜たちが大きくなってきました。トマトが傾いてきたのでトマトを柵？で囲みました。まだ緑だけれどたくさん実がついてきました♪枝豆ちゃんはオーガニックの種を買ったせいなのか，葉っぱを虫に食べられまくり～。頑張って大きくなれー！

Our veggies are growing! Today I put tomato cages for two of our tomato plants because one of them was kind of leaning, and from last year's experience, I know they will grow a lot bigger and will need cages. The plants already have several tomatoes (they are sill green though). My organic edamame leaves have been eaten pretty badly by some bugs. I don't know if it's because it is organic or not, but hope it will survive and keep growing.

「夏が来た！」パーティー "Summer Is Here!" Party

ボイシの子供たちにとって今日は夏休み前の学校最後の日でした。コールドウェル（ブライアンの実家）の子供たちはもう2週間前から夏休み。ということで，今晩の活動の日は学校も終わったしパーティーをしようということになって，外でかき氷を作ったり，駐車場にチョークでお絵かきしたり，シャボン玉やったり，tick-tack-toe（三目並べ）やったり，写真コーナーで写真撮ったりしました。最初の15分かそこら，大きな雨雲がちょうど真上にやってきて結構雨に降られました。大きなパラソルの下や軒下にみんなで入ってなんとかずぶ濡れにならなかったけれど。その雨雲通過後はぴーかん晴れで楽しく遊べたのでよかったです。わたしは写真撮影を担当してました。

It was the last day of school before summer break for most of the kids in Boise. In Caldwell, kids got out of school like 2 weeks ago! So, since school is out, we decided to have a party for Activity Days tonight. We made snow cones, played tick-tack-toe, bubbles, had picture taken with props, etc. We had so much fun except the first 15 minutes or so this huge cloud came right above us and we got rained on. We used a huge parasol and hid ourselves underneath the roof though. Glad it was only for the short time. I was mostly taking pictures of everyone. It was fun!

疲れています！ I'm Super Tired!

ウィリアムが夕べ遅くまで寝ず，そのくせに夜中に何度も起きてこちらは超寝不足。そして昼間さすがにウィリアムも疲れていたようで昼寝をして，そのせいで夜また11時過ぎまで寝ず。。。これが続いたらしんどいなあ。。。これは今晩ウィリアムがわたしの仕事の邪魔ばかりしていたので，仕返しに前髪をゴムで縛って，その姿を鏡で見せたら思った以上に嫌だったようで大泣き。よしっ！（意地悪な母親，ふふふ）

William didn't sleep until late last night and woke up so many time in the middle of the night, so I was super tired today. William was tired too, so he took a nap which caused him to stay awake until after 11pm. I wonder how long this will continue...This picture is after I tied his bangs with a rubber band (because he was bugging me so much) and William saw himself in a mirror. He was surprisingly shocked how he looked and started crying hard. lol I went, Ha ha! Such a mean mom. :)

失敗作のから揚げ。。。

今日は午後からどんどん暑くなって，とうとう冷房をつけてしまいました。今週は暑くなると聞いていたので，夕飯のメニューはみんな涼しい目のもの。今晩はそうめんとから揚げ（これは作るのは暑かった！）から揚げは土井善晴さんのレシピで先日母がおいしいと教えてくれたもの。だけど全然上手にできなかったからそのうちリベンジします！

It got really hot this afternoon and I finally turned on AC. I heard it's going to be hot this week, so we are planning on having cooler meals this week. Tonight we had Somen and fried chicken (it was hot to deep fry this though). The fried chicken was supposed to be good (my mom told me about the recipe she recently used and said it was good), but they didn't turn out that great They tasted good though. I'll have to try again sometime.

またハンバーガー Hamburger Again

今日は日曜日でいつものとおり，ブライアンの家族と夕食。メニューはバーベキューハンバーガー！二日連続。わたしはハンバーガー大好きだからルンルンでした♪チャーリー（義理の弟マイカ〔ブライアンの妹コリーの夫〕の両親）が手作りアイスクリームのデザートを持ってきてくれて，わたしは二種類のクッキーを持って行きました。いつも書くけれど食べすぎでやばいのです。

It was Sunday today, so we had dinner with Brian's family as usual. And the menu was...BBQ hamburgers! Two days in a row, yay!! Micah (Brian's sister, Cori's husband)'s father, Charlie brought some homemade ice cream dessert and I brought two kinds of cookies. I always say this but I eat too much.


ところで今日は教会の日曜学校のレッスンの中で，祈るときに具体的に祈る必要があることを学びました。夜ブライアンと会話をしていてあることが思い出せなくって，考えても考えてもその名前が思い出せなくって結局寝るまで思い出せなかったけれど，昼間のレッスンのことを思い出して，その名前を思い出せるようにと祈ったら，その瞬間に頭にフッと名前が浮かんだ！ちょっと感動した一瞬でした。ちなみにその思い出せなかった名前というのは，知り合いの買っている犬の名前（笑）くだらないことでも神様は祈りに答えてくれたよ，ははは。

By the way, in Sunday school at church today, I was reminded of the importance of praying specifically. When I was having a conversation with Brian tonight, I could not remember the name of a dog one of the Brothers in the ward has. I kept thinking thinking until I went to bed but couldn't remember. Right before I went to bed, I remembered the lesson from Sunday school and decided to pray specifically to know the name of the dog (I know it sounds kinda funny.). As soon as I prayed for it (and I wasn't done with my prayer yet), the name popped in my head! It worked! That totally made my day. Heavenly Father listens to our prayers even when we pray for things that don't seem so important.

そうそう，今日クッキーを作っていたら，生地を混ぜているときにスプーンが折れた！クッキー作るときにこれすごく重宝してたのに～ショック！

While I was making cookies today, my favorite mixing spoon broke! So sad! :(
