今日はウィリアムの髪を切りました♪明日ウィリアムの学校で個人の写真撮影があるのでちょっとぼさぼさの頭をなんとかしなければと思って。
It's school picture day tomorrow at William's school. So, I gave William a haircut since his hair was getting long and could use some trim.
両親に頼んで送ってもらったヘアーキャッチャー初めて使いました。使った感想？う～ん，キャッチできてない髪もたくさんあった（笑）
My parents sent me this hair catcher a while ago, and I used it for the first time today. How was it? Hmmm, it did not catch hair completely. It was okay.

ところで昨日今日とウィリアムにチョコレートのパンをせがまれて，ロールパンにチョコチップを入れたパンを作りました。たくさん作るのがめんどうなので，一度に6個ずつ，チョコロール3つと普通のロールパン3つ。
By the way, William asked me to make chocolate bread yesterday, so I baked rolls with chocolate chips. I only made 6 of them (3 regular rolls and 3 chocolate rolls)and...
昨日のは今日の午前中で全部終わっちゃったので，また今日さらに6個作りました。でももうチョコパンは一つしかないので，ウィリアムに明日たくさん作るようにと言われています（－＿－；）めんどくさいけどおいしいと言って食べてもらえるので頑張って作っちゃう。まあウィリアムが好きなのはロールパンじゃなくてチョコチップの部分だけどね。
They were all gone by this morning. So I baked 6 more today and there is only one chocolate roll left, and William wants me to bake a bunch of them tomorrow. It takes some effort, but I want to bake them for him since there are not many foods he likes. Though what he is really enjoying is the chocolate chips part, not the rolls themselves. lol
そして昨日と今晩の夕飯はイタリアン♪手作りエッグパスタにイタリアンソーセージ入りトマトソース。まいう～♪
And we had Tomato sauce with Italian sausage over homemade egg pasta. We love this so much. So good.
今日夜9時に突然ドアベルが🔔
Someone rang our door bell tonight at 9 pm.
誰だろうと思ってブライアンが戸を開けると。。。誰もいなくてこんなものが。👻👻👻
We thought, who the heck is ringing the door bell this late?! Brian answered the door, but no one to be found...but found these at the door.
今度は自分たちが二人の人に同じことをしなければなりません。だれにしようかなあ。こういうの大好き♪ハローウィン楽しい✨
Now we have to do the same to two other people. Who should we choose...hmmm. I love this. So fun!
今日は土曜日で昼間買い物に行きました。
It was Saturday today and we went shopping.
まずはTarget（ターゲット）へ。ハローウィンのコスチュームおもしろいのがいろいろありました。
First we went to Target. There are some interesting costumes.

Targetの後はハローウィンストアに行ってきました。今回は前回行ったのとは違うお店。こっちの方が人気があるみたいでたくさん人がいました。
Then we went to a Halloween store. This time we went to a different one from the last one. It looked like this one was more popular than the other one since there were a lot more people there.
それにこっちの方が怖い飾りつけも多くてウィリアムはちょっと怖がってました。笑
And there were more scary decorations at this store, and William got a little scared.
今日ハローウィンストアに来た目的は，なんとブライアンのコスチュームを買うため。結婚してから初めて（恐らく人生初？）仮装をします！今年のハローウィンが楽しみです♪ブライアンが何になるかはお楽しみに（＾＾）
The purpose of going to the Halloween store was to buy Brian's Halloween costume. Yes, you read it right, to buy Brian's costume! Can you believe it?! It's the first time since we got married that he is going to be something for Halloween. It might be the first time in his life! I'm so looking forward to Halloween this year.
ところで，今日は遅ればせながら自分の誕生日祝いのディナーに行ってきました。当初寿司を食べに行く予定だったけど，急きょ寿司は来月の結婚記念日にしようということになり，ほかに特に食べたいと思ったものが思いつかなかったので近くのメキシカンレストランへ。
By the way, we went out for dinner to celebrate my birthday tonight. We were originally planning on going to a Sushi place, but right before dinner we decided to go there for our anniversary next month. I didn't have anywhere else I really wanted to go, so we decided to go to a nearby Mexican restaurant, Casa Mexico.
相変わらずすごいボリューム。おいしい～。
So much food as always. The food is always good too.
ウィリアムは家から持参したのりたまおにぎりと，お店のトルティヤチップスとルートビアだけ。
期待していた誕生日のソンブレロ（帽子）はかぶらせてもらえず残念。しかもお店を出たら急に気持ち悪くなってしばらくダウン。とんだ誕生ディナーとなりました。まあそれも良い思い出かな。
I thought they would bring me a sombrero to wear for my birthday, but I didn't get to wear it. :( And after I left the restaurant, I started feeling sick and was down for a while. :( :( So much for dining out for my birthday...but it would be a memorable day.

先週水曜日はプルコギを作りました。いつ食べてもおいしい♪ I cooked Bulgogi for dinner last Wednesday. It's always delicious!
それから，畑で採れた超ミニメロン。切ってみたら中は超緑でした。
And, I finally cut the cantaloupe from our garden, and inside was mostly green. :(
実より皮のが暑いし！😭
The skin was thicker than the fruit!
それからブライアンに誕生日にもらったゴディバのミルクチョコ（ヘーゼルナッツクリーム入り）。めちゃクリーミーでおいしい♡
And I tried some of the Godiva chocolate Brian gave me for my birthday. It's milk chocolate with Hazelnut cream, and is so rich and yummy.
それからメキシコ人のマリエラにもらったチョコフラン（チョコケーキの上にプリンみたいのが乗ってる）日本人には甘すぎ～。
This is chocolate flan my Mexican friend Mariela gave me. It's too sweet for Japanese. lol
そして先週は酢豚も作りました。実家で食べてた母の味とは全然違ったのでイマイチ。
And I cooked Subuta (Sweet and sour pork) too. It didn't taste all that great too me. It was so different from my mom's. I love my mom's the best.
ハート形のハムパンも作りました。形がいまいち。どうしても上手にできない。ウィリアムはハム食べてくれないので，嘘ついてサラミパンだと言ったらパクパク食べてた（笑）そんなんで食べるのか！？
I baked some heart shaped ham bread too. I can never make them right though. William doesn't eat ham, so I told him it was salami bread. Then he happily ate it, ha ha.
今晩「活動の日」の活動がありました。今回はゲームをして遊びました。
There was Activity Days tonight. This time we played some games.
一つは"Don't Eat Pete"（ピートを食べないで！）というゲーム。9つ（9人？）のM&M'sからPeteを一人選んで，鬼の人はPete（のところに乗っているM&M's）を食べないようにM&M'sを選んで食べて行きます（分かりづらい説明ですな）。もし食べそうになったら，Peteか誰かを知っているほかの全員が大声で"Don't Eat Pete!"と叫ぶというゲーム。鬼を交代しながら遊んでいきます。Peteを見事によけてほかの全部のM&M'sを食べれた子もいれば，最初の一つや二つ目で終了の子もいたり，面白かったです。ちなみに自分はたしか４つで終了。
One of the me was called "Don't Eat Pete". First you choose Pete, and It person tries to not eat Pete. If the person tries to eat Pete, the rest of the people shout out "Don't Eat Pete!!" There were girls who could successfully avoid Pete, and there were also girls who couldn't even get one M&M'S. lol It was fun. I think I got 4 of them.
二つ目のゲームはディズニー版ピクショナリーゲームで，ディズニー映画を知らないと全然答えれられないゲームでした。みんなよく知ってること！うちはほとんどディズニー映画見ないからなあ。頑張ってみるようにしないと💦
The second game was Pictionary (Disney version). Since I didn't know much about Disney movies, I couldn't answer most of the questions. The girls were so good at the game. I should start watching Disney movies...
今日はわたしの誕生日でした✨✨✨
It was my birthday. 🎉🎉🎉
今日で車の免許が切れてしまうので更新しに行ってきました。朝ウィリアムを幼稚園に送ってからその足で8時半頃一度行ったら，なんと待ち番号100番目だったので誕生日にそんなに待ちたくないって思って家に戻って午後に出直すことにしました。
My driver's license was going to expire today, so I went to DMV to get it renewed. First I went in at 8:30 am after I dropped William off at kindergarten, but there were already so many people and I was number 100 in line. I waited like 5 minutes and decided to go home and come back in the afternoon. I didn't want to wait for a long time on my birthday.
そして，午後になって2時ころなら空いているだろうと思って今度はウィリアムも連れて行ったら，なんと，待ち番号390番でその時点でサービスを受けている人の番号は250番くらい。つまり140人待ち。ガーン😨午前中そのまま待ってればよかった💦
And I went back around 2 pm, this time with William, thinking it would be less crowded. But to my surprise, there were way more people in the afternoon. Now I had to 140 people waiting before me. I should have stayed and waited in the morning.
結局免許更新できるまで2時間かかりました。ウィリアムは待ってる間，ほんとに静か～に一人で文句も言わずにひたすら1時間半絵を描きまくって，そこでいったんおやつ休憩して，その後また呼ばれるまで絵を描いてました。
After all, it took two hours to get my license renewed. While waiting, William behaved so well, being quiet and just kept drawing pictures for an hour and a half without complaining a bit. Then he had some snacks, and went back to his drawing.
どこかに行って待たなければならないときに，ウィリアムはすごい忍耐強いというか長い時間静かに座っていられるのでほんとに助かります。
When it comes to waiting/sitting for a long time, he is very good at it, and it really helps.
時間かかりましたが無事に更新できました（写真は本物が届くまでの仮の免許証）今回8年有効の免許書を選んだのでしばらくは更新の心配しなくて済みます。
It took a while, but I got my license renewed. Whew. This time I got 8 years one, so I don't have to go back to DMV for a while.
と昼間はとんだ誕生日でしたが，夜は家族にささやかに祝ってもらいました。
So the day was kind of hectic, but we had a little birthday party in the evening.
平日で外食は難しいので夕飯はコストコのピザ🍕
Since it was a week day, we decided to have Costco pizza for dinner.
それからケーキは苦手なのでアップルパイ🍏
And for cake, I asked for an apple pie.
そしてプレゼントプレゼントももらいました🎁
And Brian and William gave me some presents.
義理の母からお花もいただきました🌹ブライアンの職場まで持ってきてくれたのをブライアンが家に持って帰ってきてくれました。
My mother-in-law gave me some flowers. (She dropped the flowers at Brian's office to take home.)
免許の更新で時間かかったり風邪もまだ治らずじまいで体調がいまいちだったりしましたが，日本とアメリカ，その他の国のお友達からもメッセージをいただいたりして良い誕生日になりました。
With DMV and my cold, it was not the most pleasant birthday I have had, but I received so many birthday wishes from Japan, US, and some other countries and I say I had a really good birthday. :)
今日は義理の母のキャシーと自分の合同誕生日ディナー＆パーティーがありました。いつものようにみんなで集まって夕飯食べて，それからケーキ食べてプレゼント開けて，と。
We had a Sunday family dinner tonight, and celebrated Kathi's and my birthday.
キャシーが今年で60歳という節目の年になったので，盛大にパーティーをしてあげようということで，キャシーの友達にパーティーのときにサプライズで参加してもらってみんなでわいわいお祝いしました。
Kathi turned 60 this year, so my father-in-law and sister-in-law decided to have her friends over after dinner to join us for the party without letting Kathi know. So we all got to celebrate her birthday together.
プレゼントには，CDやセーター，トフィー，バッグなどをもらいました✨
I got a CD, sweater, toffee, bag, etc. for my birthday presents.
義理の弟のマイカが作ってくれた甘さ控えめのケーキ，とてもおいしかったです💛ろうそく消したときに上にのってるスプリンクルが半分飛んでっちゃいました（笑）
My brother-in-law made a cake for us, and it had the perfect sweetness. Half of the sprinkles got blown away as we blew the candles. lol
ところで，明日の朝凍るかもしれないということで，畑の農作物を全部収穫してきました！これから本格的に寒くなります。
By the way, the weather forecast says it might freeze tomorrow, so I went to pick all the crops from our garden this afternoon. I'm not looking forward to the cold weather.
家族みんなでまだ風邪っ引きです。今日ウィリアムは教会から帰ってきたらご飯も食べず，午後ずっとソファーで寝てました。この格好寝づらそうだけど。本人はただ目をつぶっていただけなんて言ってましたが。早くみんな元気になるといいです。
All of us are still sick. After we came home from church, William slept most of the afternoon (He doesn't look comfortable in this picture...). He didn't even have lunch and slept forever. He said he was just closing his eyes though. lol
