幼稚園初日 First Day of Kindergarten

今日からウィリアム幼稚園に通い始めました。The Village Charter Schoolという学校です。
It was William's first day of kindergarten. He goes to The Village Charter School.


日本とは違って３，４歳児はプリスクールに行きます。5歳になるとキンダーガーテンという日本でいう幼稚園の年長さんになります。アメリカの幼稚園は学校とみなされていて，小学校と同じ校舎にあります。宿題も出ます。ウィリアムの通うヴィレッジは中学校まで一緒です。
In the US, 3 and 4 year olds go to preschool, and 5 year olds start kindergarten. And unlike Japan, kindergarten is considered school and it's on the same campus as elementary school. The kids even get homework. The Village goes from K - 8th grade (junior high). 


送りに行ったとき，ウィリアムも含め，どの子も緊張していた様子。
When I dropped him off, all the kids including William looked so nervous. lol

音楽の先生は教会の知り合いの人で，今住んでいる家の大家さんだった人。日本語もできます（＾＾）今日音楽の時間があったようで，ウィリアム頑張ってたようです。William's music teacher is a friend of ours and she was our landlord until we bought her father's home. She can even speak Japanese too (she served her mission in Japan). William had a music class today and she told me he did great. :)

朝送って行ったときには少し心配していたけれど楽しく過ごせたようで安心しました。これからもずっと幼稚園で楽しく学んでいってくれるといいな。
I was worried a little bit when I dropped him off this morning. He looked so nervous, but he seemed like he had a great first day.

自分はと言えば，ウィリアムがいない間一人の時間を満喫✨買い物したり教会の人のお宅にブラックベリー摘みに行ったりしてきました。ほらこんなに♪♪これでブラックベリーのタルトを作る予定です。おいしく出来るかな。
As for me, I enjoyed my free time. I went shopping, and went to a church member's house to pick blackberries, etc. I'm planning on making a blackberry tart with those berries. yum yum.

それから今日は日本のじいじとばあばからウィリアムへ誕生日プレゼント（とその他もろもろの食材など）が届きました✨すでにお菓子を食べ始めています。いつもいろいろ送ってくれてありがとう♪
And a package from my parents came today. It had William's birthday gift, and other stuff like snacks and other foods, and other things I had asked them to send me. I'm grateful for them for often sending us good stuff from Japan.
