流れ星 Meteors

昨日の夜，流星群を見るためにブライアンの実家にみんなで集まりました。夕飯にピザを食べた後，暗くなるのを待ちました。子供たちは外で遊んだり，中でレゴで遊んだりしてました。大人は話したり，畑の作物を見て回ってブラックベリーを摘んだりしました。
So last night, we went to Brian's parents' in Caldwell to see meteors with his family. We had pizza for dinner and waited until it got dark. Kids played outside, and also played with Lego inside. We adults talked and looked at the garden and picked blackberries etc.

9時半ころにようやく一番星が見えだして，皆で裏庭に行きブランケットやシートを敷いてポップコーンやクッキーを食べながら星の観察をしました。木星，北斗七星，北極星とこぐま座，カシオペア座などが見えました。たくさんの衛星が飛び回ってるのも見えました。
Around 9:30, it was finally getting dark and started to see stars. We went out to the backyard and put blankets and chairs on the grass, and had some popcorn and cookies while we watched stars. We could see, Jupiter, Big dipper, Polaris and little dipper, Cassiopeia, etc. We could spot many satellites flying around as well.

肝心の流れ星は一つだけしか見えなかったけれど青白い流れ星がはっきり見えて感動✨ブライアンも一つ見たと言ってました。ウィリアムはあちこち動き回っていて肝心の空を集中して見てなかったので一つも見れなかった様子（笑）
I could only see one meteor, but it was so bright and clear and I got excited. Brian said he also saw one. William didn't get to see any because he was walking around and not paying attention to the sky that much. 


このあたりは空が街の光で明るくてなかなか星が見にくいので，どこかキャンプとかに行って星を眺めてみたいなあ。
Around here we can't really see the stars well because of all the city lights. I would love to go camping somewhere and see the stars from there.


ところで今日はメキシコ料理やさんへお昼に食べに行ったのだけど，お会計のレシートが乗ったトレイにシェーシェーって（笑）
By the way, we went to a Mexican restaurant for lunch today, and this is what we got at the end. It says "Thank you" in Chinese. Where are our fortune cookies? lol
