寿司！ Sushi!!

今日は夕飯に餃子を作ったのですが，日本人の友達のみどりちゃんと旦那さんのネイトが外食して寿司を食べに行って食べきれなかったので食べてくれないかという超ぜいたくなお願いをされて，もちろん喜んでオッケーしました。超テンション上がりました！とってもおいしくて，これだけおいしい寿司が食べれれば，ボイシでも頑張ってやっていける！と思いました。苦笑　ちなみに自分が作った餃子は寿司がおいしすぎてしょぼい感じになってしまいました。

ところでウィリアムは今日は熱も下がって，昨日と比べたらだいぶ元気そうでしたが，まだだるかったりするせいか，一日中ぐずっていて，ストレスたまりました。調子が悪いって分かっているけれどつい怒ってしまって反省。

My Japanese friend Midori and her husband Nate went out for dinner at a sushi restaurant tonight, and they brought us some sushi leftover because they couldn't eat anymore. I was on cloud nine. The sushi was so good and it felt like I was eating the right food. lol  I cooked gyoza (pot stickers) for dinner but it didn't taste nearly as good as the sushi.

William's fever came down quite bit today, but I don't think he was feeling all that great since he whined a lot! I got so frustrated and wasn't all that nice to him. I need to be more kind. :(

病人ウィリアム Poor William

ウィリアムは昨日からの熱が下がらず，ほぼ一日寝ていたりぐったりしていました。むしろ上がって一時は39度2分まで上がりました。なので，夕べの緊急治療所に電話をして，抗生剤を処方してもらいました。これで早く良くなるといいです。寝ているときは天使のようにかわいい～♪笑

William's fever was I want to say better, but it was actually worse today. It got up to 102.5 at one point. I called the urgent care we went to last night and had the doctor prescribe antibiotic. Hopefully that will help him get better soon. He looks like an angel when he's asleep! :D

緊急医療所 Urgent Care

ここのところウィリアムが元気だけれど鼻水と咳が出ていたのですが，今晩体温を測ると38度以上。病院に連れて行こうってことになって，8時まで開いてる近くの緊急医療所へ。体内の酸素の数値が低いということでレントゲンをすることになって，心配したけれど，何も異常なしで様子を見ましょうということに。とりあえず安心。早くよくなってくれるといいな～。ところで，イエローストーン旅行については近日中に投稿する予定です！まだ旅行の疲れが残っていて。。。

William has been having cough and runny nose since last week, but had never had fever until tonight. We decided to take him to an urgent care close by after dinner, and that was our FHE activity! lol The doctor had him have x-rays since his oxygen level was low, but there was nothing wrong with his lungs which was good. I hope he gets better soon. By the way, I'll post on Yellowstone trip soon. I'm still tired from the trip.

イエローストーン Yellowstone

今日からずっと引き延ばしになっていたイエローストーン旅行に来ています。と言ってもまだ着いていなくて、ボイシから5時間ほどのアイダホフォールズにいます。ここを基点にイエローストーンまで行き来する予定です。ここからまだ一時間半くらいかかります。でもなんとかここまで無事にこれてよかった。ついたときには寝る時間を過ぎていたのでウィリアムはすぐに寝てしまいました。

We are finally on Yellowstone trip! Today we left around 3:30 pm and drove here to Idaho Falls. It took us like 5 hours. We will be staying in a motel here, and head toward the park from here tomorrow and Saturday. William fell asleep right away since it was past his bedtime whe we arrived here.

ラーメン＆炊飯チャーハン Ramen & Fried Rice

昨日は仕事があったので疲れていたけれど，今日も疲れていて夕飯面倒くさかったので，長い間冷蔵庫に眠っていた超期限切れのラーメンと，チャーハンも面倒くさかったので炊飯器でできるやつを作りました。疲れている原因の一つは，朝6時半に起きて運動をしているから。例のチャレンジグループです，はい。今週は4週目。たぶん30日だから来週火曜くらいまでだと思うけど。残りも頑張ります，成果出てないけど（苦笑）

I was so tired yesterday since I had a translation project that was due, but I didn't have any jobs today, but I was till tired! So I didn't really want to cook dinner, so Ramen and fried rice (cooked in the rice cooker) had to do. One of the reasons I have been tired is I have been getting up at 6:30 most of the days and exercising. Yep, I'm in the challenge group again, and this is the 4th week. It will go on until next Tuesday I believe. I'll hang in there until the end even though I haven't seen any changes - no weight loss or loose clothes, etc. (-_-;)

お母さんへの誕生日プレゼント??? My Birthday Gift???

今日ウィリアムはプリスクールで，また紙皿を使った工作をしてきました。今日はアルファベットのD/dを学んだようで，Dから始まるDog（犬）を作りました。これと前回のピエロ（Clown）を両方持って，「おかあさんのたんじょうびにどっちあげる？」とかなんとか何度も言ってました。「どっちでもいいよ～♪」なんて言ってみたものの，内心プレゼントこれかよー！って（笑）

William learned the letter D/d in pre-school today, and they made a dog with a paper plate. When we came home, he found the Clown he made last week in pre-school and kept saying "Which one would you like for your birthday?" I said "Whichever you want me to have", but I had "What the heck! Is this what I'm getting?!"kinda feeling. lol

今日の夕飯はジンジャー・ライム・チキン。これが簡単でおいしいんです！おいしいものが多すぎる～。幸せな悩みですね。

We had Ginger Lime Chicken for dinner! It's one of our favorites! Too many favorites! :)

ティーガンの誕生日 Teagan's Birthday

今日は甥っ子（ブライアンの妹の子）ティーガンの7歳の誕生日。ちょうど日曜日だったので，いつものとおり夕飯に家族（プラス友人）で集まりました。メインのメニューはティーガンの大好物のパスタ。夕飯の後に誕生ケーキとプレゼントでお祝いしました。ティーガンは大好きなレゴをたくさんもらって大興奮でした♪

It was my nephew's (Brian's sister Cori's son) 7th birthday. Since it was Sunday, we got together with the family (and friends) as we normally do and had dinner. The main menu was pasta since that's Teagan's favorite food. After the dinner we had a birthday party for him. He was super excited to get so many Lego's. :)  

またまたシシカバブ！ Shish Kebabs Again!!

今日はわたしは翻訳の仕事があったので，一日中ブライアンがウィリアムの面倒を見ていてくれて，外に買い物に連れて行ってくれたり，学校の遊び場で遊ばせてくれたりしていました。おかげで今晩10時ころやっと終わりました。あと一つ火曜日締め切りのがあるので月・火で終わらせねば。

今晩は夕飯またシシカバブ！もうバーベキューできるのもわずか。今日もおいしかった～！いつもは4本がっつり食べるけど，今日は2本でストップしてみました。でもその後にチョコパイとかせんべいとか食べちゃったから意味なかったな。苦笑　ウィリアムは肉も野菜も食べないので，パンにバターと蜂蜜をつけたのと，チーズとブドウとリンゴとジュース。毎日そんなんばっかり。（－＿－；）

I had to work on my translation project today, so Brian took William out to the stores and schools and took care of him all day for me. Thanks to him, I was able to finish one of the projects tonight around 10 pm. I have another on due on Tuesday, so have to work on it on Monday and Tuesday.

We had Shish kebabs again for dinner! So yum! We can barbecue probably a few more times before it gets too cold. I usually have 4 skewers, but today I stopped after the second one. But, I had some Choco-pie and senbeis later, so may be I should have just eaten all four! William doesn't eat meat or veggies at all, so he had bread with butter and honey, some cheese, grapes, apples, and juice. He eats about the same everyday. :(

家購入お祝いディナー Celebration Dinner

昨日の家の購入のお祝いとして，今晩久々に夕飯外食しました♪ブライアンがアウトバックがいいと言うのでアウトバックへ。8オンス（約230グラム）のサーロインを頼んだけれど，全然もっと食べれたー！お金持ちになったら20オンスの肉を食べてみたいです（笑）ウィリアムはポテトだけをぱくぱく食べていました。

We went out for dinner to Outback to celebrate on closing on our house. Brian and I both ordered 8 oz sirloin steak but I totally could have had more (I shouldn't have though). When we become rich (if that ever happens), I would like to order 20 oz steak! William was just had his favorite fries. :)

マイホーム購入 Closed On Our House!

日が変わってしまいましたが，17日の投稿です。晴れて今日マイホームゲット♪と言ってもこれまで借りていた家を買っただけなのですが。そして買ったと言っても頭金5パーセント払っただけで，家の9パーセントしか所持していないのが実際のところ。でもとりあえず自分の家と呼べる持家ができました。ここにはお金たまってもっと良い家に引っ越せるまで少なくともあと5年くらいはいると思います。

We closed on our house today (17th), yay!! We were renting the same house for a little over two years, and since the house owners (the Hansens) decided to sell the house and gave us the option of purchasing it, we took the offer. We are so glad that everything worked out and that we were able to come up with the 5 % of down payment and all that. We are planning on living in this house for at least five years or so until we can save up more money and purchase a better house.

This is what we made at Activity Days last night. Paper cups turned into cute box, and there are cookies from yesterday inside of them. Aren't they cute? :)

シュガークッキー Sugar Cookies

昨日シュガークッキーを焼いて，今日アイシングを塗ってデコレーションしました（大したことないですが）。今晩の教会の「活動の日」（8歳から11歳の女の子の活動）に使います。動物の形のはもっとたくさん作ったのですが，ちょっと焼きすぎたので自分たち家族で食べます（笑）

I baked sugar cookies yesterday and put icing today and decorated. I'll need them for Activity Days for tonight. I baked more animal shaped cookies, but I kind of over baked them, so decided to leave them for my family. :)

これは今朝のプリスクールでウィリアムがやったことのいくつか。茶色いぐちゃぐちゃのは一応ぬり絵です（笑）

チョコパイ！ Choko Pie!!

今日，オンラインで注文してあった日本の食べ物（お菓子中心，笑）が届きました！メインはチョコパイ！！大袋が売ってなかったので，6個入りの箱を5個注文しました。全部で30個あるチョコパイだけど，家族3人みんな好きで，ウィリアムも一つぱくっと食べるので，毎日1つずつ食べたとしたら10日でなくなっちゃうじゃん！！ってブライアンに言ったら，毎週ひとつずつ食べればいい，なんてありえないことを言っていました。そんなの絶対無理です！

I received a package full of Japanese snacks in mail today. I recently ordered them online. I was most excited about choco pies. They are the best, if you have never had them before. There are two kinds of choco pies - Korean and Japanese ones. I don't want to offend anyone, but just for your info, Japanese ones are far better than Korean ones, and they are a lot more expensive too. I ordered 5 packages of choco pies (6 choco pies in a package), so there are 30 of them. That sounds a lot, but all my family members (Brian, William and I) love them, so if we eat one each for ten days, they will be gone!! When I told Brian about it, he suggested we eat one per week! He's got to be joking! That's NOT possible!!!

今朝はまた幼児教育プログラム行ってきました。ウィリアムほとんどずーっとパズルをやっていました。今日は雨も降ってとても寒い日で長袖の人が多かったです。ウィリアムの冬服を最近注文しておいてよかった。

We went to the early readiness program at YMCA this morning again. William was into puzzles most of the time we were there. It was such a cold day today (even rained) that many people had long sleeve shirts. I was glad that I had bought William's winter clothes.

プリスクール2週目 Pre-School Week 2

今日はウィリアムのプリスクール2週目（2回目）でした。ウィリアムを送りに行った後，先日買った商品をあるお店に返品しに行ったり，友達の家の食洗機が壊れてたくさん汚い食器がたまっていると言っていた友達の食器洗いの手伝いに行ったり（笑），1時間半の間に結構いろいろできてうれしい！それからウィリアムを迎えに行ったら，先生がウィリアムがアルファベットをなぞるのを一人で上手にできて先生自身も驚いたとほめてくれてわたしもうれしくなりました（＾ｖ＾）やっぱりプリスクール行けるようになってよかったです♪

This is William's second week of pre-school (today was his second time). After I dropped him off, I was able to go to a store to return a product I purchased last week, and go to my friend's house to do the dishes (her dish washer has been broken). There is so much I can do in an hour and a half! Then as I went to pick up William, the teacher told me that she was surprised at how well he did on tracing the letter C with a pen. I'm glad he is in pre-school. He seems learning well and having a good time. :)

ウィリアムの誕生日パーティー William's Birthday Party

ブライアンの両親がやっとユタから戻ってきたので，久しぶりに今晩みんなで集まりました。食事の後に延期になっていたウィリアムの誕生日のお祝いもしました。ブライアンのお母さんが用意してくれたトーマス＆フレンドのミニ電車たちの乗ったケーキにちびっこたちは大興奮。その他にもたくさんプレゼントをもらってウィリアム大喜び。甘やかされてますなぁ。

Brian's parents are finally in town, so we got together for Sunday dinner for the first time in three weeks. After the dinner we had a birthday party for William which had been postponed. Kathi (Brian's mom) prepared a cake with Thomas & friends engines on top which made all the little kids excited. William was very happy to receive so many gifts. He is so spoiled!

物置と車庫の整理 Organizing The Shed & Garage

今日は土曜日で，特にどこにも出かける予定はなかったので，先週に引き続き，物置と車庫の整理をしました。いらない段ボールを片づけるだけでも結構時間がかかってなかなか進みません。この車庫の中の荷物をちゃんと整理したいです。来週はイエローストーンに行く予定だから，まだまだ先かなあ片付くのは。。。

We tried to organize our shed and garage again today. It took us for ever just to get rid of the boxes we didn't need. We haven't finished organizing shed or garage yet and it will take for a while.

その後の夕飯は，またバーベキューのハンバーガー♪今日はてりたまバーガーです☆友達からさやいんげんをもらったので，バター醤油で炒めてバーガーと一緒にいただきました。まいう～♪

After we worked hard, we had BBQ hamburgers for dinner. This time we had Teritama (teriyaki sauce and fried eggs) burgers. We had the burgers with some beans I got from my friend today. Yum!

お友達と集合 Get Together With Friends

今日は日本人のお友達数人とその子供たちと集まって，一緒に持ち寄りランチをしました。子供たちはそれぞれ楽しく遊んだりたまに泣きわめいたりとやっていました。わたしたち親は楽しくおしゃべりしてたくさん笑いました。

William and I were invited by a Japanese friend for a get together. There were few others came too. We had lunch, then kids played with their toys and ran around, sometimes laughing or crying. We adults chatted and laughed a lot. We had a great time.


そう言えば，今日は9.11。あれからもう14年！？信じられないです。ついこの間のことのように思えるけれど。朝学校に向かう途中，知らない男子学生が話しかけてきて，ツインタワーに飛行機が突っ込んだと聞きました。何を言っているんだろうと不思議に思いながら教室に行くと，飛行機がツインタワーに衝突していく映像が流れていました。とても実際に起きていることとは思えなかったのを覚えています。もうあのようなことが二度と起きないことを祈ります。

I can hardly believe it has been fourteen years since 9.11. I just remember a stranger (BYU student) started telling me how airplanes had crashed into World Trade Center, and I just couldn't comprehend what he was exactly talking about until I got to my class and saw the video. I could hardly believe it was real. I hope things like that won't ever happen again.

ウィリアムお手伝い William Is A Good Helper

ウィリアムはほんとうによくお手伝いしてくれます。最近は食洗機の中ものを片づけるとき，フォーク，ナイフ，スプーンを片づけるのを自分一人でやりたがり，わたしが手を出すと怒ります。だからウィリアムだけだと時間かかるけれど，ずーっと終わるまで見ています。どのスプーンがどこに行くかとかちゃんと覚えてきて，なかなかおりこうさんです。いつまで進んでお手伝いしてくれるかなあ。。。

William likes to help out. Today he helped me out with unloading the dishwasher. Lately, he wants to put silverware away by himself and gets mad if I try to help him, so I just have to be watching him while he puts them away. It takes a while, but I'm grateful that he is willing to help and hope this will last long.

ウィリアムが今日はあんまり食事をちゃんとしなくて，2時すぎても昼ごはんも食べてなかったので，屋内ピクニックもどきをして一緒にチーズのパンとブドウを食べました。ずっと食べてなかったから結構食べてくれてよかったです。わたしは運動したばかりだったのですごい真っ赤な顔で髪もぐちゃぐちゃで失礼。。。

William wasn't eating well today. He hadn't had lunch even after 2 pm! So I decided to put a blanket on the floor in the house and have an inside picnic with him. We sat on the blanket and had some cheese bread and grapes. William ate pretty well. Yay, mommy won!!

プリスクールデビュー♪ First Day of Pre-School

今日からウィリアムがプリスクールに行き始めました！今年から行ってほしいと思っていたので，おむつしてでもいいと言う個人でやっているところに行けてとてもうれしいです。ウィリアムも初日楽しんできたようです☆うれしい反面，どんどん大きくなっていってしまって少しさみしい気もします。送りにいって一人で家に帰って来るときに，いつも一緒に車に乗っているはずのウィリアムがいなくて不思議な感じがしました。

William started pre-school today!!! I was hoping he would start this year, so I'm very happy about it. William enjoyed it too. It felt weird on the way home after I dropped him off because he wasn't in the car with me. 

今晩は宣教師が家に夕飯食べに来ました。一人の長老（ニコル長老）は伝道始まったばかりのビーンちゃんだったので，納豆チャレンジはもちろんのこと，食べ物を新米色の緑でそろえてみました。カレー（ご飯緑色），メロン，緑のジェロー，サラダ，緑のオレンジジュース，それとピスタチオのケーキ（緑色）に緑色のホイップクリームを乗せて。タイのグリーンカレーにしようかとも思ったけれど，魚油が嫌いでまったく食べれなかったらかわいそうだと思ったのでやめました。やっぱ納豆は嫌いだったみたい（笑）カレーは気に入ってくれたみたいでよかった。

We had the missionaries over for dinner tonight. One of the Elders, Elder Nichol, just came out to the field and it was his first time to come to our home. SO, he had to have a Natto challenge. :) He didn't like it though. I wonder why. And since he was a greenie, I served all the green foods I could think of - curry with green rice, green salad, lime Jello, honey dew, green orange juice, and pistachio cake with green whipping cream. :) It reminds me of the greenie breakfast I had on my mission. I'm glad they loved the curry. 

幼児教育プログラム第2週目 Early Learning Readiness Program Week 2

今日はまた図書館でのYMCAのプログラムに行ってきました。第2週目の今日はフルで2時間きっちりありました。遊びながらブロックやアルファベットのパズルなどで自分の名前をつづったりと，これから学習することにもっと焦点を当てていくようです。

William and I went to the Library for the early learning readiness program sponsored by YMCA. It's the second week of the program and they are going to focus more on learning, rather than just playing. 

夜は昨日祝日ですっかり忘れてしまった家庭の夕べをやりました。活動として近くの小学校の遊び場に遊びに行きました。帰りに宣教師に会いました。明日うちに夕飯来る予定なのでその様子についてはまた明日。

We had Family Home Evening tonight since we totally forgot to do it last night (it was a holiday). We went to the playground of the elementary school nearby and played for a while. On the way back home, we ran into the missionaries. They are coming tomorrow night to our house for dinner. I'll post on that tomorrow. :)

レイバ―・デー（勤労者の日） Labor Day

今日はレイバー・デーで祝日でした。ブライアンも仕事休みでした。大学時代のルームメイトがユタからワシントン州に帰る途中でボイシを通るということで，一緒にランチをしました。ちょうど6か月になったばかりの愛娘のヘイリーちゃんにも初対面できました♪こうして何年たっても連絡を取り合うことができてとてもうれしいです。

It was Labor Day today, so Brian didn't have to go to work. Kathy, one of my roommates from BYU emailed me saying she was going to drive through Boise on the way home to Washington (from Orem Utah), so we met up for lunch and had a short reunion. It was so nice to see her and her husband Grant, and meet their 6 months old baby girl, Hailey! She was so adorable! I'm grateful for the friendship we have had over the years. 

で，夜はまたシシカバーーーブ！やっぱ最高においしかったです☆ブライアン，バーベキューしてくれてありがとー！

And we had shish kebab for dinner! I just love it! Thanks Brian for cooking!
