総大会 General Conference

先日土曜日と日曜日は末日聖徒イエス・キリスト教会の年次総大会でした。ユタやアイダホにいると家のテレビをつけて視聴できるのでありがたいです。

We watched general conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this past Saturday and Sunday. I like how you can just turn on TV and watch it in Idaho and Utah. 

一般部会一部会につき2時間で，それが土日で4部会あるので計8時間あります。大人にとっても長いですがウィリアムみたいな子供にとっては超長いはず。
One session is two hours and there are four sessions, so total of 8 hours. It's long even for adults, so it's must be very long for the young kids like William.

先週日曜日に教会の初等協会（子供のクラス）で総大会のときにやるワークシートをもらってきました。それを使ってウィリアム4歳にしてはほんとうに頑張って視聴しました。話者のネクタイの色を塗って，その人の名前を書いて，聞こえた単語を幾つか書き留めました。自分でまだ単語書けないので，わたしが一つ一つ別の紙に書いてあげたのをウィリアムが写しただけですが，それでもなかなかがんばったでしょ？
But William did great job watching the conference. The Primary presidency handed out this worksheet to the kids last Sunday so that the kids could work on it during the conference. Each time one of the First presidency or twelves came on, William would color a tie, write down the name, and wrote some words he heard. He can't write words by himself yet (he can write a few words), so I had to write them on another piece of paper and he copied them. But didn't he do a great job as a 4 year old? I'm a proud mom. :)
