今日は裏庭でリスが2匹何度も顔を出して，それを見たウィリアムがめずらしく外に行きたがり，裏庭で少し遊びました。というか雑草取りをしました。去年ウィリアムとタンポポの綿毛を飛び散らして遊んだのが今年になってあだとなって返ってきました。裏庭中タンポポだらけ。庭の手入れを怠っていたからぐんぐん成長してすごいことに。スーパーの袋に2袋いっぱいに引っこ抜きました。日本にいたときはタンポポ＝花だったけど，ここでは完璧雑草です。
We have two squirrels that come to our backyard often. Today they were in our yard a lot. William saw them and wanted to go outside (which he hardly does lately) so we did. And we found so many dandelions growing so tall, and they were just everywhere! I think that's partly my fault since I was letting William play with them and spread the seeds everywhere last year. :( I collected 2 grocery bags full of dandelions this afternoon and we still have more of them. When I was living in Japan, I considered them as flowers, but here they are definitely weeds!
小さく見える黄色っぽいやつが卵
ところで，今日裏庭にいるときに前に見つけた蜂の巣を捕獲しようとしたら，蜂がいなくなっていて，巣だけを捕ってみたところ，中の一つ一つの部屋に小さい卵が産みつけられていました。個人的にはこういうの大好きで育てたいとか思っちゃうけれど，蜂だからちょっと困るな。
While I was out in the backyard, I thought of taking the wasp nest down that I found a while ago. I saw no wasps but as I took it down, I found a tiny egg in each cell. I love observing this type of things, but since it's a wasp nest, I might have to just throw it away.
今日はようやくウィリアムのためにひらがなカードを作りました。これでゲームっぽく覚えてくれるといいんだけどな。ぼちぼちがんばります。
I finally made Hiragana (Japanese alphabet) cards for William to learn. Hopefully he will be interested in learning.
