7/18 家族旅行3日目 Family Trip Day 3

さて，先週の家族旅行の3日目はシアトルを出てオリンピックナショナルパークへ。そこで訪問者センターを訪れたり，軽くハイキングなどしてからオリンピアというところに滞在する予定でした。
On the third day, we headed to Olympic National Park. There we were going over to the visitor center and go on a hike. Then we were going to drive down to Olympia and stay there for the night.

オリンピックナショナルパークへの道中訳のわからない渋滞に巻き込まれ，オリンピックナショナルパークへの到着がかなり遅れてしまいました。結局何やら一人の男性を逮捕？するために多くのパトカーが集まり道をふさいでいた感じで。あんなに警察必要だったのかなあ。
On the way to Olympic National Park, we were stuck in a bad traffic forever! It turns out many cops were trying to arrest a guy on the road, but did they really need to block the road for a long time just for that?

オリンピックナショナルパークはものすごく広大な国立公園で，今回行ったのはハリケーンリッジというところ。まずはナショナルパークのビジターセンターへ行きました。
Olympic National Park is such a huge park, and the place we went this time was called Hurricane Ridge. We went over to the National park visitor center first.

次にハリケーンリッジの訪問者センターへ。
Then off to Hurricane Ridge visitor center.

それからハイキングをしました。ウィリアムがやる気満々で山の頂上まで行こうということになって（上り始めの標高が高いので頂上はすぐそこに見える）結局1時間ほど歩きました。
Then went on hiking. William had so much energy and wanted to climb all the way to the top of the mountain, so we did (Where we started the hike was already in high altitudes, so it wasn't too hard, but still hard enough for me.

あそこまで登りました　We hiked up there.

山なので結構涼しくて，まだ雪が残っていたり，まわりにはシカがたくさんいたりしてとてもきれいなところでした。
Since we were in the mountain, it was pretty cool and there was still some snow left, and we saw many deer. It was such a beautiful place.

そこからオリンピアへ向かったのですが，思ったよりも遠く，オリンピアのホテルに着くまで5時間くらい！到着したのは夜11時。でも無事についてよかったですマジで。
From there, we left for Olympia, but it was a lot farther than we thought, and took us like 5 hours to get to our hotel! By the time we got there it was already 11 pm! We were glad we made it there safely though.


4日目からはいよいよポートランドです。続きは後日。
