We went to Idaho Botanical Garden for Bug Day. Steve, my father-in-law was going to take his daughter MeiLi and his grandsons, Teagan and Eddie to the event, and invited William too, and Brian and I decided to come along as well.
We went there just in time for the ladybug release at 11am, but there were so many people which was totally surprising to us.
Each kid got to release ladybugs that were in a little container.
After we did that, we went around the garden, visiting different areas/booths which would allow kids to look at and/or experience different things.
There was bug trains set up in an area...
There was a booth where kids could borrow a net and catch bugs (nobody caught anything though)...
William, she is not a bug. lol
There was an area where kids could get bug Tattoos and get a little prize (like a pen and magnet kind of stuff)...
They could observe the bugs that live in water...
observing a dragonfly larva.
They could watch bees...
Watched roly-poly race...
Observed bugs under a microscope...
Looked for roly-polies...
The kids got distracted by non-bug stuff in the garden and we adults had a hard time chasing them. lol
It was such a hot day, but we all had a great time.
Steve bought each one of us shaved ice and that was a lifesaver.
By the way, for dinner tonight, we had our first Shish kebab (with lamb) for the summer. This kebab recipe is amazing and absolutely my favorite!
