ジャパン・デー Japan Day

今日はダウンタウンで行われたジャパン・デーのイベントに行ってきました。アイダホ在住日本人会の一年で一番大きなイベントです。
We went to downtown for Japan Day this afternoon. It's the biggest event of Idaho Japanese Association.


屋内では獅子舞、琴、日本舞踊、日本太鼓などのパフォーマンスがありました。
Inside a building, they had several performances including shishimai (Japanese lion dance), koto (Japanese harp), taiko (Japanese drums), nihon buyo (Japanese classical dance).

屋外ではヨーヨーすくいや紐を引くとお菓子がもらえるやつとか、たこ焼きなどのお店が出ていたり、ちょっとした日本のお祭り気分を味わいました。
 Outside the building, there were different stalls selling yo-yo, snacks, octopus balls, etc. Of course it's different from actual matsuri (festival) in Japan, but I loved how you could feel a bit of Japanese spirit. 

いつもあんまりたくさんの日本人に会う機会ないけれど、こういうイベント行くと結構日本人っているんだな～って驚かされます。
I only know some Japanese people in Boise, but I'm always surprised to see many of them whenever I go to an event like this.
